This movie starring Treat Williams absolutley stinks. I mean, it's a real shocker but the title
music by Cipriani is not bad. Was any CD available?
If you want a taste of how inane this one is...

Wasn't this the same Son 'o Bob that scored that awful Italian thing with Shelley Winters called TENTACLES back in 1977?

Yep, same dude that scored TENTACLES, and nope, nothing released on CD for NIGHT OF THE SHARKS, although if it were to be released, I'd be all over it. Cipriani is one of my favorite composers.

Well, there seems to be a 5-minute cue (#15) on this compilation disc:

And Piranha 2: The Spawning, I believe.

Seriously, this is the worst shark movie ever:

(WARNING: Features some gore and other material unsuitable for minors)

The clip has some ridiculous movie deaths in it, but the first movie is a real stinker.

And to keep this reply more on topic, I think Cipriani's best score is Nightmare City (which may actually be worse than any bad shark movie out there).

Bring on the blood I would say my favorite Cipriani score is: Bay of Blood (Ecologia Del Delitto)

You could be right.....I just watched "Night" again and it's actually not that bad.

Dont know the shark film, but Tentacles was, as stated above, a fairly terrible movie about giant octopus/squid. Typical poor Italian copy of Jaws. Not a bad Cipriani score, although I seem to recall when I saw the film at the cinema, the movie versions of certain themes, especially the regatta sequence, were better and had more edge in the film and were then jazzed up/smoothed out badly for the soundtrack LP, a too regular occurence in those days.

If I remember rightly, Cipriani did a short but neat organ motif for the appearance of the octopus - a straight copy of the way they used the Williams shark music in Jaws - but it was decent motif, however it never made it onto the soundtrack.

That sounds cool. I never did get Tentacles. The samples sounded a little too funky with not much emphasis on horror or drama. Sounds like the film version of the score would be more up my alley.

But I love Piranha 2, Nightmare City and Solamente Nero.

Just received this CD today from SAE.
Cool synth score. The main title is a blast. There's one cue on here, I think it pops up 2 or 3 times, that's got a real Faltermeyer- esque vibe. I don't think a lot of this score made it into the film. I certainly don't recall hearing much of it, (though in saying that I don't think it would have helped the film per-se).
Recommended to all Cipriani fans and anyone who digs those 80's synth scores.
Ohh....Big thanks to Digitmovies for releasing this.

Does anyone else notice how shallow the stereo field seems to be on the Digit movies album. In fact i could almost say it sounds like it could be simulated stereo. Despite the "In Full Stereo" blurb on the top of the cover.
