Not film music but I just wanted to post this clip. It's a TD song from their 2007 vocal album Madcap's Flaming Duty, their best album in years IMO.

This song is just brilliant, like the rest of the album.

TD never stop to impress and surprise me, it seems.

I have a large volume of TD but have lost touch with their newer output over the past 7 years or so. Have they done any albums lately that harken back to their earlier days (like Encore and Exit and Logos etc)? Shoot me an email if you've got any recommendations (in profile). Thanks.

Thanks.Hi There.TD's output in recent years has been on the large side. There is a series of discs called the Nagasaki Series which are just fantastic. There are three of them at the moment:Springtime in Nagasaki,Summer in Nagasaki(best of the three)and Autumn in Nagasaki. They are telling a story of a man and the effect the nuclear bomb drop on nagasaki had on him. They are just greast cd's.

GREAT song, arrangement and production! Quality melancholy right there, slightly reminiscent of Oakenfold, actually (pr. his BUNKKA compositions) - at least in the beginning. It's more David Gilmour when the instrumental bit kicks in.

What's with the drummers.? It's all programmed lol. Nice song, but it's not TD IMO. This is Tangerine Dream. 2:58 for instant gratification.

I think TD after 1989 should be called Froese and Froese. They have some gems but they are rare and usually built on the corpse of Franke's and Schmoelling's offerings while they were part of TD.

Ehm...well, the video is kinda cheesy. That whole costume thing...is it a roleplaying game? And whazzap with burning the picture of Syd Barrett at 1:09? Does he have anything against the late Pink Floyd member?

But still, lovely song. Great chord shifts!

No, this song has real drums.
Not TD? TD is really everything the band did during the last 40 years.

Jerome Froese left TD several years ago. He is not in the band in this video.

But yes, very nice Vision Quest track that of course should have been on CD by now!

Well, the whole TD album Madcap's Flaming Duty is kind of a tribute to Barrett. I guess the burning of the picture is kind of a symbol of his then recent death.

Yes, I guess they love costumes!

Yes, but Jerome's sound is still sadly present (especially the house styled percussion Ed can't seem to shake, especially when tangetizing his previous releases). I am glad you can enjoy the ever-changing incantations of Edgar's brain child. I wish I could. When the only original member left is Edgar I consider it Edgar Froese...and not TD. Would Van Halen be Van Halen if the only original member left was Eddie? Only by name, not by sound.
