He spent a number of years doing arrangements for Las Vegas performers, so the bio goes, and these arrangements for Kathy Barr stack up nicely compared to Riddle or any of the big arrangers IMO. I always liked the source cues in Fielding's score for ADVISE AND CONSENT (his first), which were cut from the same cloth. I love this stuff -- thanks for posting. I can't say too much for the interviewer, however, with his lame jokes, fakey laugh and ill-concealed erection.
I love big band music. My parents played it all the time when I was growing up. Great arrangements.
Hey Dana, unless you were in the recording booth, you can't be all that certain his erection was ill-concealed. For all we know . . . well, aw shucks, I mean come on, ill concealed? Ill conceived maybe?

Giving him the benefit of the doubt. She was feeding him the lines, though. Was Kathy Barr a bit of a slut, or was that sort of suggestive repartee considered "just the thing" for our men in uniform?
Just the thing's my guess. But you're right, Fielding sounds as good as the best. No one's commenting here on Fielding but everyone keeps asking for more Fielding (or am I getting this board mixed-up with Intrada?).
Just how many of these big band-type albums did he do? There seem to be quite a few listed on ebay. I guess arranging songs for vocalists and orchestras was how he made ends meet during the Blacklist.
