The reviews of it is are not encouraging though. I'm still interested though because the credits are stellar (Robert Siodmak, Herman Manciewics, based on Somerset Maugham, with Durbin, Gene Kelly and Gale Sondergaard), and Hans Salter got an Oscar nomination out of it. She always told me I was named for one of her favorite actresses (Donna Reed); perhaps I might have been a Deanna??????? Enjoy! We havn't gotten to "Christmas Holiday" yet, but, Mum has always said that this was her least favourite Deanna movie. Probably because it wasn't a typical Durbin film. I believe this was reflected in the box office returns at the time?
