Hold on a moment there now Preston, I alone love the big band recording of True Grit AND I have always loved Where's Jack too, so I must be the numero uno! Who are these Dana and Joan people ? Never heard of them johnny come lately's! I've got my fingers in my ears and I'm humming real loud, so I don't hear any of you. I love Elmer the best, so THERE to all of you!

It won't work, the next thing you know we'll be hearing from "the man from Virginia" and he'll be telling us he has been the number one Elmer fan since Adam was a boy!

The film recording and the album recording of WHERE's JACK are two different entities... the scoring sessions for the film were done in London and, in addition to Mary Hopkin and Danny Doyle as vocalists, the South African musician Roger Whittaker was employed to lend his talent as a "whistling" specialist. (If you watch the film you can hear his whistled version of the theme two or three times - though none of this, it seems, was considered for the record album) - The album was recorded in Rome, so the entire music budget for the thing must have cost Paramount (or Oakhurst Productions) a fortune! The film did not do very well at all, and as one previous poster has suggested, Tommy Steele's turn in the lead role was disappointing. - James.

Maybe the upcoming 15CDs box if filled with Elmer goodies? ;-) That would be wonderful. A box set of Elmer's MGM documentary film scores including The Wolfmen would be most welcome also. I'd imagine that Lukas or Bruce K would be able to access these...please tell me I'm correct guys!

Surely this movie deserves a DVD release. No release on DVD or VHS and no recent TV showings. What's going on?
