It's been awhile since my last Delerue video post but I have now returned with more.

Here is Georges Delerue's "Stone Pillow," one of the numerous television scores that he was responsible for during the 80s. The films centers around the trials and tribulations of a homeless lady in New York City played by Lucille Ball. "Stone Pillow" was also Lucille Ball's last work on screen. The score is a nice jazzy score, it's not Delerue's best work but it's always great to hear more of his music.

And, as always, the score is unreleased.

Thank you so much my friend!
It's not one of Delerue's best but - as usual - a delicate and very elegant score. A suite of 15 minutes would be perfect!

Why the lack of interest in this thread?

JERRY GOLDSMITH!!!

There is a connection between Goldsmith and Delerue - they were both composers for movies. So please put "Jerry Goldsmith" in the thread-title because his name is related to this score and you'll have a hundred posts here!

It's funny because it's true.

I'm also curious about 'The Borgias'. Is that any good? Knowing his forté at period style writing I'm guessing it is.

I find Delerue's or any composer's period music, especially renaissance/medieval style which is "THE BORGIAS," to be an acquired taste. But it's still great music.

As a huge Delerue fan, I have both the CD and LP.big grin

Talking about periode style scores, one of my all time favourite (Delerue) scores is 'Chouans'. I'm a little less enthousiastic about 'A walk with love and death'. But that's just me.

Personally I much prefer the style and music of CHOUANS ! over THE BORGIAS...I'm not that keen of A WALK WITH LOVE AND DEATH either, though I understand it was one of Delerue's favorites...

Well "A Walk With Love and Death" is almost all renaissance style period music so your apprehension is justified.

CHOUANS, on the other hand, is a mixture of orchestral and baroque period music. Since I'm a huge fan the baroque period, this combination is just perfect.
