Please put me down for at least two Roger. One for me and one for a friend who is just beginning to delve into the wonderful works of Mr. Fielding.

Only thread I could find... Funeral Home coming to blu ray via Shout! Factory WITH: Isolated score selections and audio interview with Doug Fake. I always liked this odd film. Yes, yes, we know, it was below Fielding and a terrible outro for a genius who deserved better. I like this odd movie.... Source: Dawn of the Discs on IG -Sean (who paid the extra cost to land the cd, anyone remember that, the Manta Sound Canadian reuse?)

Fake audio. ;-)

This Shout! would have been truncated by Caldera's Stephan Eicke for listening experience. Then Kev McGann will enter the scene and whittle down everything further.

Listening to Doug's audio commentary/isolated score now. Nice to hear "our own" Doug discusses Fielding and the score for about 14mins. Then, the score plays as it does on the Intrada cd. I was hoping for more of a mix of commentary and isolated scores as the film played, but it's still worth a visit. Beautiful transfer (aside from some damage that is unfortunately rather distracting around the 19 min mark, which goes on only about 5mins.). Good, game cast who give just enough to show they were invested. Gorgeous Canadian locations, and excellent early work from famed DP Mark Irwin (who offers up a fun, insightful interview as an extra). It's a trashy PG, 80s Canuxsploitation film, sure, but not the atrocity some say it is. Old horror fans like me should enjoy the film for VHS rental nostalgia (I always eyeballed the Paragon VHS, but the PG rating sent me over to Fulci's The Gates Of Hell instead! Now, back to the grave.....

Canuxsploitation, ha! Thanks, Sean. Adding that to my vocab. Dig the score, even if the cover art is more appealing than the music itself. Grateful to Intrada for getting it out there for us. Still need to check out the movie, one of these decades... Well Hells Bells Les Baxter, grazie for the response Brutha! Canuxsploitation, it's a real thing! Fruet was one of its....uhm....practioners! It's not Fielding's magnum opus, and references plenty of his past work, as he was often wont to do.... The score commentary bit last about an hour, then the film audio comes back up. Letdown a bit, but I'll carry on. Don't expect much from the film. It's super lo-fi, predictable, goreless and slight....but in light of....now....I could watch an 80s lensed project of paint drying, set to a mediocre score, and be enthralled. Any chance to slag the death of film now, I'll take! Cheers & love to ya & the fam -Sean
