I was lucky to play Martini, the Danny Divito role, in a L.A. Stage production of CUCKOO'S NEST back in 1985. I played the part a little differently then Devito. I had a lot of balloons that I would blow up and let go, as props and a Ronald Mcdonald Hand Puppet that would talk to people. I remember sharing the piece of music above with the director. He loved it and used the cool soaring playing of the theme starting at 2:15 to the end for our curtain call. I guess no ASCAP or BMI people were in the audience, so we got away with it for the run of the show.
Great memories of youth.

Great score for a great movie. That that strange musical saw melody could transform itself in the end to the uplifting theme it becomes is pretty remarkable.
