Sounds quite pleasant, but it's been a while since I've been taken with an Isham score so I'll wait until some reviews or until I see the movie to decide whether to pick it up.
I'm listening to this for the second time since acquiring the CD yesterday. It totally has that 80s feel-good fantasy vibe, with uplifting themes, playful percussion, and warm strings and woodwinds. Fans of 80s feel-good fantasy vibes should enjoy this.
Listening to this too right now. Very soft and dreamy...almost meditative. It was great to hear Isham's trademark repeating piano motif in the first track. After he graduated from the early synth scores he did, that piano idea was the first thing I latched onto in his orchestral scores (A River Runs Through It and Billy Bathgate). When Isham is on, he's REALLY ON!!! Agreed, he does have something with his 'animal' scores.
I caught the tail end of this movie today (oh boy, no pun intended) and discovered what a lovely movie and lovely score this is. I picked up a used copy of it quite awhile ago and hate to admit I never gave it a full listen. I certainly will now. I understand Rachel Portman scored Dolphin Tale 2 so I am going to watch that later tonight on Amazon Prime.
