I'm surprised more people haven't picked up on this. I'm VERY excited.

When "1941" was released, Mike Matessino posted . . . Posted: Sep 27, 2011 - 12:46 AM By: mxmx (Member) And just to keep things interesting I'll clarify further... there are actually TWO Williams releases I worked on that are coming out soon. Mike . . . then "Midway" was released, and then Mike posted . . . Posted: Oct 20, 2011 - 2:47 AM By: mxmx (Member) I guess three Williams releases (including Tintin in Europe) within a month IS rather sparse. Don't worry; it's on the way... and from as far out of left field as they come. Patience. Mike Could it be "Jaws," with a completely chronological and complete film-order program on the first disc, and an improved-sound album re-release on the second disc? Could it be a complete "Jaws 2"? Could it be "Jaws" AND "Jaws 2"? Could it get here soon, please? I'm hungry for more '70s Williams.

It isn't JAWS. There is no need for another release of JAWS. That's just common sense. There are enough people who are unhappy with the sound of the anniversary edition that would happily pick up a remastered version. And I guess there's nobody who would argue that the original album couldn't be improved in terms of sound. Which, combined, could create a double CD with film tracks and original re-recording à la ALIEN, POLTERGEIST etc. Many people have triple-dipped for identical performances of the original STAR WARS scores - why not double-dip for film and studio tracks for JAWS? It's an all-time classic of film music, even Williams' usual detractors acknowledge its importance. Then there's the question of how much music has been left off the JAWS 2 album, which, being OOP for some time now, would even create some interest if there was a straight re-issue. And who is to say there's no possibility of a JAWS box set? Universal isn't the impenetrable fortress it used to be, JAWS 3 had been reissued by Intrada, but is out of print, and co-operations between the specialty labels aren't unheard of either... My common sense tells me that there's no reason yet to rule out JAWS that categorically.
