What are your "guilty pleasures" when it comes to TV programs, and why? Here are a few of mine:

Judge Judy: I DVR this show every single day. I have respect for dominant women, even moreso if they're intelligent, and Judy fits the bill. On top of that, she calls idiots idiots and is rarely wrong in her assessment of people and their intent. And let's face it, putting stupid people in their place never gets old. big grin

Maury: I get just as angry when watching this show as I do giddy, truly an enigma. How many people in the United States really don't know who fathered their babies? How many people find a condom in their bed and still need a lie detector test to prove their significant other is cheating? And yet, I can't stop watching.

Jerry Springer: I used to watch this back in the day too, when Jerry used to have shows about the KKK and its members, back when it was more of a "talk" program than now. It's since degenerated into a show about sexual debauchery that may or may not be real. I watch this for the same reason as Maury: it's a character study about the general degradation of society, the people within it, and morality as a whole, and it helps me remember that my stupid daily problems really aren't all that bad.

I hate reality shows, but I got hooked into Hardcore Pawn. Our cable system requires a subscription now for Tru TV, so I haven't been able to watch it.

Dog The Bounty Hunter. Pretty much the same every episode, yet for awhile I couldn't get enough. Still catch it from time to time on Netflix, but don't really watch it all that much now.

Maury gives me ideas for my script writing.

I used to watch Jerry Springer back in high school, in the mid-90s when it was at the height of its popularity, but eventually grew tired of it. True be told, I don't really have guilty pleasures. I've never really been one of those people who are like "Oh, this show is so terrible but I have to watch because I just can't look away." I know several people who will watch the worst stuff on TV (Operation Repo, Jersey Shore, Storage Wars, etc.) but are like "It's so awful, how can you not watch?" I guess I'd rather just spend my time watching things I actually like and get something out of besides laughing at their badness. If I watch something, it's because I like it, and I'm not going to feel "guilty" for doing so.

The only "reality show" I watch regularly is History's Pawn Stars, because you actually get some historical/educational knowledge out of it with a lot of the really cool stuff that comes into the store.

Fast & Load : before we left the US I was totally hooked on this old car restoration show

Fear Factor : a guilty pleasure show if there ever was... watching the contestants drink the awful 'shakes' and hanging on to speeding vehicles while grabbing the flags

Survivor : don't know quite why, but still tune in to this... sometimes the girls are hot smile

i was hooked on Intervention for a long time, watched about ten seasons worth, cried at the end of most of them, serious lack of drama in my life.

RAY DONOVAN

if it weren't for Jon Voight (JON VOIGHT?!) i would have left this show but he is so good!

ARROW
It shamelessly rips off the story line from BATMAN BEGINS and recycled lotsa stuf but...

I find it compelling. And, i do not now why.
Maybe someone here can tell me what it is about this show that makes me like it

It must be all the females in the cast. They dominate the show.

Last year I was really into "Storage Wars". The original cast of characters were fun and had a lot of chemistry. Their banter back and fourth was hilarious. I soon caught onto how gimmicky it was and lost interest.
