I love it - it follows the film and doesn't take any artistic liberties. The vocals are a bit different on One More Kiss Dear and On the Trail of Nexus 6, but not so drastic that it distracts you from the listening experience. Edgar Rothermich has given us a faithful and to date, most complete score of Blade Runner that we are going to get. The 3 disc trilogy released in 2007 was a disappointment to say the least, but this new rescore delivers the goods that Vangelis keeps refusing to give us.

A great release & a perfect companion piece to the "trilogy" released by Vangelis. In fact, other than the rerecording of "Tales of the Future", I prefer the BSX release. It's not that the "Tales" track is bad, just that the original vocals are so unique & hard to beat.
The BSX version is almost impossibly correct as you're listening to it; as if it's the original & the trilogy with dialogue is the reinterpretation. I would love to hear a rerecorded compilation of Vangelis music someday including the "Bradbury" cue.

Thank you, BSX!

I just finished listening to this score first time, and i have to say i´m truly impressed. This is easily the best synth based rerecording of Vangelis´music so far, as many have said, and i can happily agree with that. Edgar Rothermich has created the sounds masterfully being faithful to the original, and this pleases me greatly. It´a very hard imo to replicate (pardon the pun) Vangelis´ old analogue syntheziser sounds, especially CS-80, but now we are very very close.

Thanks to everyone involved to this project, well done!

Why not give us next Antarctica, (1983) with same sounds already used in Blade Runner? wink

Received this a couple of days ago and listening to this one now. As someone who avoided the previous Vangelis "reworking" of Mutiny, I was initially sceptical of this one until reading all the favourable posts.

Halfway through and I'm very impressed. Excellent work all round and until Hell freezes over and we get the original soundtrack, this will be getting a lot of plays. Reading the notes I can only admire the effort that went into this one.

I was on the fence about this one but I finally took the plunge. Add me to the impressed list, and having heard many versions of this score including the unmentionables I have to say that the actual selection of tracks on the program is excellent, (and I'm usually a die hard for complete scores).

This release feels like the expanded score this movie always should have had. Many thanks to BSX team for making this one happen. This re-recording beats the more recent 3 disc fat-packed score release hands down. A classic score with a much deserved and brilliantly constructed re-recording.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, I'm looking forward to doing another project with Edgar, he's one talented guy.

Do you have any plans to do more re-recordings of 80s electronic scores? I'm hoping that the LEGEND and BLADERUNNER albums might open the door for further projects like THE KEEP.

We're working on some stuff right now, with luck it will be ready before the end of the year.

That is exciting news -- I continue to be impressed by the Blade Runner 30th Anniversary Celebration re-performance. Would love to see more of this re-performer's work!

I'd like to see an expanded BLADE RUNNER or companion disc with the further cues (finally the 2-disc soundtrack we fans have always craved). As it is, its a fine disc but just an alternative to the unmentionable footwear edition.

Ford, just wondered if you could say how many copies of this are left? It was a 1500 release from last year, and I'm trying to budget to ensure I can buy it before it sells out.

We have a few boxes left, but it's getting low.

I'll have to do a count next week.

The new pressing "has been further re-mastered" says the buysoundtrax website. Can anyone tell me what the difference of the mastering is between the two pressings? Thanks smile

But I wouldn't shun a second Blade Runner album either wink

FYI, it looks like this isn't a simple repressing of the original release. Maybe because they wanted to maintain the integrity (collectibility) of the first limited run. This new release has only 15 tracks but the original has 17. It looks like they removed Deckard's Dream, and they've combined the tracks Dangerous Days and Wounded Animals into a single track title Deckard and Roy's Duel. I don't know of any differences in sound quality, though, as I don't own the new pressing.

Regardless of which Vangelis pressing, the book is lightyears better. Hard to take watch the movie after reading it. I suppose it's irrelevant to most people's movie experience, but cut me some slack, it's 4/1.

No different from any other book then.....the book is usually better than the movie....

with exceptions like THE GRADUATE (which I've never read). But JAWS which was a bestseller and riveted readers in the day is a considered a dog by those who've only seen the film.

I loved BLADE RUNNER first few times I watched it, but after being blown away by the first few pages of the book, I felt cheated by the film's narrow focus. Then again, I read that Dick loved the movie. Tangential to the soundtrack discussion...or maybe not. There are many so-so films which inspired wonderful soundtracks. I'm still playing "Light at the edge of the world" but cant see how the film inspired it.
