La-La Land Records, Sony Music and Warner Bros are proud to announce the premiere release to Alan Silvestri’s score to the hit film THE BODYGUARD, starring Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston. Celebrating its 20th Anniversary, Alan Silvestri’s lush, exciting noir-ish score comes to life in this jam packed score-only soundtrack release featuring in depth liner notes by Tim Greiving featuring a new interview with director Mick Jackson and sultry art direction by Dan Goldwasser. One of my personal favorite releases of 2012! One of Silvestri’s greatest scores FINALLY on cd!

Huge, old fashioned orchestral music was recorded for this time traveling dinosaur series. . .great themes, exciting action cues and tender moments throughout.

Wow, wow and wow!

Finally The Bodyguard. I actually have the original release and I only listen to one single cue, the Silvestri track. Can't wait for more of this gorgeous trumpet melody.
Thank you!!!

BODYGUARD !!!!!!!

Oh wow. This is my third favorite release of 2012 (right after The Shadow and The Phantom). It is one of my all time favorite Silvestri scores. A friend of mine who worked at WB gave me a DAT of the recording session right after the film came out and I`ve been listening to that score so often. And I nonetheless will order the LLL double CD because that`s the kind of release I want to support and I am looking forward to the liner notes and the interview with the director.

These guys are a force to be wreck-en with. Great releases all around. Sadly I have never seen the Bodyguard and have no idea how the music is, but have heard the movie and score are quite good, so I'm excited.

and what 10th anniversary titles will go on sale this time?

Titles I'm hoping for:

Batman animated vol. 2 (probably not but a guy can dream :-))

The Cape

Clue

the Edge

First Knight

Fat Man and Little Boy

Sleeping with the Enemy

The only things I don't have from LLL that I'm super interested in are Star Trek: TMP and Medal of Honor Box - neither of which will be discounted to $10 anytime soon, I'm afraid. wink

I'd also pick up Wonder Woman on disc if it were discounted to $5 from its current $10, but I already have the digital release so I'm not too concerned with it.

Not familiar with Bodyguard. So eager to hear sound samples. As far as sales go, I usually pick up the titles I really want upon release. So probably no bargains here for me.

The theme next week is TV SOUNDTRACKS. smile

Never expect titles from the Sony Music or WEA catalog to go on sale (especially that low). The cost to produce each cd is staggering since we have to pay for finished goods AND royalties on top of that.

Rare exception is a title that is going OOP soon and we have to unload the remaining inventory.

You need to check out the movie, over here it has been played to death on television, it's hard to miss! I've tuned on to it countless times, great performances by both Costner & Houston.

Sadly, I have seen The Bodyguard. Looking forward to experiencing Silvestri's music without having to plow through the tedious movie (though admittedly my allergy to Whitney Houston* didn't help).

*Her greatest contribution to cinema? Producing The Princess Diaries.
