Did anyone get the limited edition Blu-ray of the original 1959 JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH? If so, I have two questions: 1. How does the video quality of the Blu-ray compare to the standard dvd? 2. Will the Blu-ray be released again....possibly by another label? 1. It is better than the DVD. 2. Possibly. Twilight Time's license is presumably for 3 years after which someone else can license or Fox could release it themselves.

I just heard from a fairly reliable source that Twilight Time is re-releasing four Blu-rays that were previously sold out: 1. JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH (remastered) 2. FRIGHT NIGHT 3. CHRISTINE 4. MYSTERIOUS ISLAND (probably) Aside from Journey being remastered, this is good news for many of us for another reason: If any of the "limited release" films are desperately wanted and we miss out, it's not quite as painful knowing there might be a better chance of having "another bite at the apple", if not by the same company perhaps someone else, like we've seen with many soundtrack CDs. Here in Australia, some of these "sold out" titles are so amazingly cheap, we can afford some of these until something better comes along. Certainly that's preferable than paying jacked up e-bay prices for the same thing. I have a copy of the U.K. Blu-ray of "Journey," which appears to be the same transfer as the Twilight Time, and sells for a fraction of the cost of the TT edition (shipping from the U.K. to the U.S. is fairly inexpensive). It's an all-region disc, and plays perfectly on U.S. machines: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Journey-Centre-Earth-BLU-RAY-HOLLYWOOD/dp/B00EJ4PPVM/ref=sr_1_6?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1409040460&sr=1-6&keywords=journey+to+the+center+of+the+earth Yup, this is the one I have (a better cover than the TT release too), but it's not a UK release, it's Australian, selling on Amazon UK Marketplace. It also has Bernard Herrmann's isolated score. But I'm looking forward to the re-master. And while Fox are at it, how about The Lost World (1960), in many ways a terrible movie, but I like it, & it's no worse that Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea.

I just watch the DVD on my BR player and the upconversion makes it pop.

I kinda wish they'd restore the 2 songs scenes Pat Boone did which were cut (or at least the footage as bonuses).
