At last count, I own about fifty of them with a few in shipping.

How many do you own and what are your favorites?

I've lost count. frown

Can't seem to locate any handy online discography/catalogue of Universal France albums ... do you know how many there are?

Yes. There is poster, Mr. Urs Lesse, who posted a comprehensive one on the board. I'll try to locate the link.

I think I should have at least 18 or 19 of their albums.

Some of them have climbed aboard my 50/50 favorites lists, like Philippe Sarde's QUEST FOR FIRE and the Michel Magne disc of music for Roger Vadim films (LE REPOS DU GUERRIER, rejected BARBARELLA & DON JUAN 1973).

But my most cherished UF album is Pierre Jansen's collaborations with Claude Chabrol (LA DECADE PRODIGIEUSE, JUSTE AVANT LA NUIT, LE BOUCHER, etc.)

Yes. These, along with several François de Roubaix CD's (Le Samourai, Les Grandes Gueules, Dernier Domicile Connu) have become some of the most played in my entire collection.

Do you have LE MONDE EXPÉRIMENTAL DE MICHEL MAGNE? Something tells me you would enjoy it.

No I don't even recall this one.
Must have missed it. I do have the FANTOMAS by Magne, but none of those experimental releases (there's some by de Roubaix as well?).

LE MONDE ÉLECTRONIQUE DE FRANÇOIS DE ROUBAIX VOL. 1 & 2. They are absolutely, positively not to be missed. Volume 1 contains a rejected score for a Cousteau documentary - L'ANTARCTIQUE - a hugely bold and melodic work full of life, thrills and joy. Perhaps my favorite de Roubaix score of them all (and I like all of them).

The only major work missing is DAUGHTERS OF DARKNESS. It is coming, but from whom and when is still up in the air. François de Roubaix specialist, Gilles Loison, interviewed director Harry Kummel for that very purpose in 2012 (and this I know for an undisputed fact).

Wow - such news!

I suppose the both of us will no longer worry about hunting down that elusive rare 45 r.p.m., especially if we can expect the entire de Roubaix score for DAUGHTERS OF DARKNESS to be in the pipeline.

(although I would also add Diaboliquement Vôtre as another major work in need of expansion from those measley 3 tracks on that Dreyfus compilation CD)

Yes of course. I suppose that several of his works deserve an expansion, bearing in mind that the scores are not very lengthy to begin with.

And yes, we can put that wad of cash back in the bank. That 45 r.p.m. was a hugely expensive expenditure I can do without. I know a gal in town who actually purchased a copy for the paltry sum of 250.00$! That would buy many copies of the CD of which I'll get mine signed by Danielle Ouimet, Delphine Seyrig's co-star in the film.

Yes. A very lovely lady too. She very generously took time to sign DVD's after the screening of DAUGHTERS OF DARKNESS at the FANTASIA Festival in Montreal two years ago. Sort of like deluxe 'extras'.

About 30, plus the Delerue and Legrand sets - my favourites, apart from anything by Delerue that goes without saying, the De Roubaix titles which I discovered thanks to this series

Unfortunately, far too few. I'd estimate eight. I think I've hesitated sometimes because at one time, if one waited a while after they were released, they'd appear a fair bit cheaper from sellers on Amazon. But more recently that hasn't been the case.
Also, I'm not sure about recently, but in the past it was hard to find clips of many of them.

all Delerue except that faulty disc they decided not to correct or at least comment on the issue, plenty of Sarde, Jarre + Papillon and a few Legrands.
Could be something around 20-25 probably.
