GLADIATOR may not be to every taste, but I think it's an underrated effort. Highly recommended.

I picked up Fright Night not long ago, figuring it would be in one of these announcements soon. Gladiator was such a recent purchase, it is still in the shrink wrap. smile

Ahhhh, had to get Fright Night. I have been putting it off for too long anyway. I'm always in the mood for some Fiedel.

"Gladiator" is a fantastic, upbeat score with some fast edge, and a lovely love theme which later found its way into "The Vanishing", though the theme is more developed and presented better here.

It's infused with emotion, adrenaline, and some '80's feel good, even though it was 1992. Replete with drum machine.

Why this and "2 Days in the Valley" didn't sell so well and were rather discontinued, I'll never know. All these Goldsmith fans always clamoring for more Jerry, anbd when they are presented with it, they pass; this what? The third or four Goldsmith title discontinued at Intrada?

I don't imagine this will be fetching high prices on eBay, but still, if you got a chance, try out the samples.

The sound is sharp, with great clarity, and the brass has some bite to it at times.

Any Goldsmith I buy within the first week of their release, unless it is a re-release. This score is not one of his best, also a rejected and that might be one reason why it is not selling well. It will sell good now. Everyone is probably thinking that Goldsmith scores will be around for awhile, well Intrada is forcing the sales with its fast deletion. Never really cared for much from Fiedel.

Ugh, terrible timing, as I'm not getting paid until next Thursday. frown Can anyone out there secure a copy of Gladiator for me, and I'll pay for it + shipping when I get some money? E-mail me at monty39@verizon.net if you can lend a fellow fan a hand.

DAMN IT!!!!!!!! Just put in an order with SAE last week, was SO close to order a copy of Fright Night, which I've been putting off for a long time. Now I have to order it anyway without the benefit of cheaper shipping.

Thanks for the heads up on this!

And who says they are being discontinued because of low sales? Perhaps it's the opposite and they've sold the entire amount they were contracted for?

Both titles are owned by Sony/Columbia; it's also possible that the contract license Intrada has for them has expired.

Ordered Gladiator with Kritzerland's Missouri Breaks. I hope a preorder won't exclude receiving Gladiator (I can wait for it as the order fulfills).
