Independent distributors Hen's Tooth Video will release a combo pack edition of director Jack Gold's The Medusa Touch (1978), starring Richard Burton, Lino Ventura, Lee Remick, and Harry Andrews. The preliminary release date set by the distributors is October 1.

Richard Burton stars as John Morlar, a man who claims to possess a terrifying power. When Morlar is savagely attacked in his London flat, Detective Brunel (Lino Ventura, Army of Shadows, Greed in the Sun) investigates and the trail leads him to Morlar's psychiatrist (Lee Remick, Anatomy of a Murder, Wild River) for answers. He learns that Morlar believes that he has telekinetic power, including the ability to make planes crash and buildings crumble. As Brunel digs into the case his worst fear may soon be realized - that Morlar's power is real and that he can wreak havoc at will. Based on the novel by Peter Van Greenaway.

Special Features:
Audio Commentary with director Jack Gold, Kim Newman, and Stephen Jones
Behind the Scenes Footage: Destroying the Abbey
Original Theatrical Trailer

This film also has one of my favorite Michael J. Lewis's scores, only available as a "promo."

The music score by MICHAEL J LEWIS was fantastic hyper and stirring during the last 15 or so minutes along with the end credits theme. Really sets the mood for this film with a nervous effective vibe to it.The film pretty much came and went on it's theatrical release. I caught it when it opened in New York. much underrated and was basically ignored by mainstream critics during it's day. But seeing the film again it touches a deep emotional cord and I think why it has been pretty much obscure is because people are afraid of it.It really is the apex of a true disaster film.

Special effects by the great Brian Johnson.
