I missed this whole "revised edition" business. Ugh. I hate to have to also buy the Kindle edition after shelling out for the hardcover in advance from the publisher. Sigh.
One option is, as a Kindle owner, I can "rent" the book free through Amazon Prime.
Ooooo. I hadn't heard about this. Given I am currently reading the J. W. Rinzler Making of Star Wars books, this will make a nice companion to my other favourite sci-fi series. (Now can someone please do one for Farscape. I would add B5 but I have all the JMS books)
EDIT - Surprised this is only on the Kindle but not the iBook store.
For those of you (like me) who purchased the first edition, there is an explanation from the author and publisher. They are also offering a deal on the second edition (it differs depending on when you purchased it) in an effort to make amends. Go to "These Are The Voyages" on Facebook for more info.
I was unhappy when I first heard about the revised and expanded edition, but after I read of the circumstances surrounding the release, I realized that sometimes, to put it bluntly, s**t happens. I have a copy of the new edition on the way, and I'm confident that we won't see a repeat of this with future volumes.

Yeah, same here. My new copy has already arrived. There's still no fix with regard to the music in The City On The Edge of Forever/Operation Annihilate!, but the rest looks to be much improved.
Didn't the "Bonk Bonk on the Head" kid also play Dill (Truman Capote character) in TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD when he was younger and then appeared in THE GODFATHER PART II as the young Hyman Roth, but was cut out in the final cut?

Are you sure? I just received the revised copy and that error was indeed corrected. Among the new information is the answer to a question that has been bugging me for a few years: when did they stop using the original "electric violin" theme in the first season. Answer: The Corbomite Maneuver. It was the first episode to use the cello theme (which was incorrectly replaced with the electric violin theme on the DVD and Blu-Ray releases).

That's strange. I have the Expanded and Revised Season One and the City/Annihilate error for music was not corrected.
My copy of Season Two arrived today. I can't wait to dig into it.
