starting to have some regrets moving away from LA!
this really has not worked out for 2013. had the first AYS performance date lined up with a wedding in April and then they moved the date to the week of thansgiving. used my plan ticket for the wedding only. thanksgiving week, as i think i've mentioned before, is just too darn pricey to make that quick trip in.
and now this! a week after i will be there for the varese and fans of film music gathering. going to be hard to justify flying right back a week later.
elfman is going to be a major casualty of leaving LA this year. but i am looking forward to the fans gathering and the composer line up is really becoming a good one. let's have lots of first hand accounts on these two elfman concerts on the boards so I can live vicariously through you all!
...and glad to see John Mauceri return to LA conducting film music again. He was the first guy I ever heard of to conduct to a film clip (not a silent film) in the early 90s at the Hollywood Bowl! And judging the way he talked about it he was one of the earliest.
Great! Now I can hopefully take my daughter trick or treating (not that she wouldn't love the show, which she will in either case). I've got three tickets for the 31st concert that I'd like "swap out" as it were, so anyone who's interested, please give me a shout via Facebook!
