Beginning to revisit all of the bond scores. Man, how I wish one of our big labels could get their hands on these and give them a proper C&C release with MM overseeing the sound cleanup. While I'm thrilled to have what they gave us with David Arnold, it's the older stuff I want...
@ Mr. TacktheCobbler: Are you enjoying the Quest set? An amazing release by LaLaLand.
Very much so. For some reason, the original series eluded me in childhood, so I didn't really watch it until last year. When I did, I found it immensely enjoyable and the music was very good and some of it is quite Herrmannesque, which helped in my decision to order it along with the Waxman scores.

Indeed. One cue in particular - Pulsating Chase from The Robot Spy - is a pretty nifty hommage to North by Northwest.
The River by John Williams: I think I've only ever listened to this once, maybe twice. Nicely orchestrated. Solid affair that recalls his 70s writing, albeit the approach is a little too glamorous at times. The cover always made me laugh on account of the discrepancy between the size of Mel and Sissy's heads and their bodies.
Country by Charles Gross is far away from the Hollywood gloss of Williams' effort and much more "down to earth."
Red Sonja by Ennio Morricone (can't recall; has it been established that the 38 mins. on the Perserverance is all of it?)
