Haha, Nic, at least ONE of us was there for the Born Free theatrical run and if you think you can play the Bridge of Death on me it ain't gonna work! And how DARE you make fun of the score to the one with the coffee plantation out on the continent.

Require N. Zwar to wear a mask from here on. Don't think encephalitis comes in cyberdroplets but mustn't take chances, hmm?

I'm on the go currently on a Dutch island (Texel), so I won't be able to join this time (no laptop etc., just smartphone). Have fun everybody, I'll be back.

You can of course use Zoom with a smartphone, though if you have data restrictions obviously that would be a thing...

Okay, thanks... might be an option, though I'm worried about the connection... it's an idyllic island, so Internet is so-so to "service not available" (yes, just like in those horror movies). I just registered for tonight.

I humbly submit to the high (road to China) council.

That's a coincidence, Nicolai. I delivered a Zoom Powerpoint presentation to my local astronomy society a couple of weeks ago, and it featured Texel.

Whoa, cool. What did this fine but small little island of nature (I visit here more or less regularly) do to be featured in an astronomy presentation?

What defines a John Barry fan? I think of myself as one -- at least, I regard him as being up there among the best, if not the actual best. Whilst defending the right of the payer to invite whomever, I sincerely hope these things are not getting cliquey.

You are required to provide proof of purchase for at least 8 John Barry scores, 9 if one of them is OUT OF AFRICA. You must be able to recite from memory the story of at least 4 John Barry scored James Bond films. You will also be required to send in a video of you singing loudly your rendition of "Born Free". Your application will then be processed and a panel will then decide if further questioning is necessary or if you will receive the secret membership greeting code, which will get you "Jr." status membership, which may advance over the years if you prove yourself worth. So it's not really cliquey at all.

No wonder I wasn't invited back. Many of the James Bond plots blur in my head. I know where the cues go though.

There's a very famous southern hemisphere star called Eta Carinae (Google it). The first reported observation came from Pieter Keyser, chief navigator on the first Dutch voyage to the East Indies in the 1590s. The flotilla of four ships on that voyage set sail from Texel.

Did it suddenly finish at midnight when I went to the toilet to turn into a pumpkin? I was having a good time and you didn't even say farewell.

I made it despite island isolation on my smartphone, though what felt like a monsoon started, so I went in and couldn't stay till the end. Didn't have to say anything really, but was great seeing you folks.

Graham,

I noted you were away when the meeting was ending and that you'd come back and find we'd abandoned you.

We all shouted "Bye, Graham" but I guess you couldn't hear us.

:-(

Interesting suggestion, Amer. But would anybody really want to see that?

Yes, thank you for hosting, Stephen. It was great to put faces to names and chat film music for awhile. Very entertaining stories about Barry, too. I'll never hear the term "willy" again without thinking of The Living Daylights.
