This is fantastic news! We all have something to really look forward to -- and start saving up for! Lukas, you mentioned that the sequencing would be as per the Rykodisc Living Daylights CD, ie bonus sections at the end. Would this mean that titles such as OHMSS will maintain the album edits of certain cues? I'm thinking here of the "Journey to Blofeld's Hideaway" cue. Additionally "Over and Out" ends differently in the film than the album, which simply repeats and fades. An example from YOLT is the "Drop in the Ocean" cue. It is slightly longer in the film and the last few notes appear to be from an alternate take. From DAF will the 10 second prelude to the title song be present? I feel the opening brass sting is a great way to start the song. One of the exciting aspects will be trying to guess what will be on the albums!!! As for sound quality: I will think I'm in heaven if it is on par with Bob Norberg's remastering work on the 21 minute Thunderball Suite from the 30th Anniversary set. The quality there is nothing short of astounding! Were 3-track masters - or in the case of say DAF and LALD 16-track tapes - used? Can you provide any insight on this angle, Lukas? If the sound is also improved on the non-expanded releases then I'll have to double-mortgage the house to buy them all! The mention of extensive liner notes from Jeff Bond and new pictures is pretty much worth the price alone. Whilst it is a little disappointing to hear that no extra music from Moonraker could be found, I think the tapes may surface one day. I wonder if anyone asked engineer Dan Wallin? Thanks to all involved at MGM/UA, EMI and others who contributed -- February is going to be a corker month! Cheers Chris Malone

Will the Rykodisc reissue of OCTOPUSSY include the annoying dialogue tracks? I'd re-buy this one just to be rid of those... I'm told that the dialouge tracks have been removed for this reissue. Ford A. Thaxton

Does this mean that the unextended Scores can also never be found as iso scores on possibly future dvd releases or is this a different story? For the fact of no extended version for moonraker i will now be in a state of depression until further notice! FYI, MGM has a very wise policy AGAINST isolating scores on DVD's. Ford A. Thaxton

John H Ross (Member) 'This is tremendous news! Ok, it would be better if the expanded albums were restructured in film sequence but hey... I'll take an expanded OHMSS in ANY form!' I agree ... Too late now, but perhaps, Lukas, could recommend to EMI, that they place cues in chronological (as in the movie) order. 'Hmm, "ALMOST"? There's more than 2h of music to Thunderball!' I didn't realize this. Interesting. Will rent the film and listen closely.

About that MGM anti iso score policy Ford mentions: WHY NOT TRUE FOR "TOMORROW NEVER DIES" ? If they can do it with this one they could do it with others, right? I will never understand these rights-holders

I agree ... Too late now, but perhaps, Lukas, could recommend to EMI, that they place cues in chronological (as in the movie) order. Yes, there's something "not quite right" about The Living Daylights and For Your Eyes Only. It's weird listening to the album and then find... ummm... here are some extra tracks, as though they're an afterthought. And it's particularly annoying when, like FYEO, the extra cues are arranged into suites so you can't even re-sequence them yourself. Well I guess there must be a reason for it... I heard that it was some legal thing surrounding EMI and the original copyright. But what gives... aren't these re-issues also being released by EMI? Surely they can do what they like to the sequencing? I think it's more likely they want the expanded editions to match the straight re-issues. Personally I would have preferred the scores, as heard in the film, in sequence followed by bonus tracks of the album re-recordings. But hey, who am I to say? John

'Personally I would have preferred the scores, as heard in the film, in sequence followed by bonus tracks of the album re-recordings. But hey, who am I to say?' You are a paying customer, who loves film music. I, like you, would prefer having that music, as heard in the film. Often times, this solicits comments from some, who say, 'Be glad to get the music,' as if we are not. I just want what I heard in the film and in that order. John? You my friend, are the reason scores sell. I feel, companies sometimes forget this. It's like saying: 'Let them eat (not cake), but what we give them. Not scores, but songs. Not the music from the film, but a re-recording. Not the chronological order (I mentioned), but what we feel like sequencing.
