I wish I knew what Yavar is going on about-sounds like some research is in order. The animated Batman from the 90s was, for me, the definitive portrayal of the character. Despite being a "kid's show" and constrained in terms of showing on-screen death (the bad guys were always falling from a great height into something soft or a body of water) it is actually the most mature and powerful portrayal of many aspects of the Batman mythos. Many of the villain portrayals are the best iterations of those characters as well, particularly The Joker voiced by Mark Hamill. All of the episodes also had completely original orchestral scores, accomplished by a team led by Shirley Walker, and for me they stand up with the original Twilight Zone in terms of greatest television scoring of all time. The Killing Joke is an upcoming adaptation of the famed comic book. I had heard that Mark Hamill had permanently retired from playing The Joker (in one of the Arkham video games from a few years back, he played a dying version of the character as his last hurrah). But he is coming back for this project, and I have heard that he claimed an adaptation of this particular comic book story was the only thing that would persuade him to return to the character. The iconic voice of Batman/Bruce Wayne from the 90s animated show, Kevin Conroy, is also returning, along with (I assume) other voice cast alums. And the composers working on this are former protégés of the great Shirley Walker, who brought them up as young composers under her leadership at Warner Bros. during their 90s animation renaissance. For many years, since the Justice League show, they have been reduced to working with samples because the music budgets were reduced to the point of not being able to afford real musicians. This I feel has sadly impacted the quality of their work. But I have heard that for The Killing Joke they are being given the budget for a real orchestra. This promises to be a return to the quality of the 90s animated Batman in every way, with the one change that it is no longer constrained by being a "kids show" and will be an appropriately dark and adult treatment of this story. I can't wait, and I am so relieved that LLL is releasing the score. Yavar

Perhaps the WW single is a hint of something bigger to come? It is Please note that the vinyls are announced early because, as with all vinyl manufacturing, you have to have them into the plant 5 years ahead of time, take a second (and sometimes a Third) out on your house and sign over your first born in order to kinda make a release date. More cool cd releases to be announced for the Con as soon as we get sign offs. Right now we have 6 additional titles waiting in the wings. We'll know better in early July. Hang tight. MV WOAH! Seriously? There could be more Wonder Woman coming? This is unreal. Don't get me wrong, the vinyl idea is a nice touch and Johnny Harris' season three arrangement is underrated and totally deserves this kind of attention. But there could be MORE Wonder Woman music coming? If that's the case, that's epic. And SO overdue (almost as overdue as an Oliver Nelson / Six Million Dollar Man soundtrack release). Charles Fox's Wonder Woman song and original score is iconic. I know that word gets thrown around a lot but it's true in this case. Artie Kane's season one (and most of season two) music was both distinct and completely faithful to Fox. When Artie left, Robert Prince cam in and got a little wonky and I never thought he was very heroic. But when Johnny Harris came on for season three, I loved it! His arrangement for the main title was different but still heroic. And he was the only season three composer who - IMHO - smoothly incorporated Fox's statements into his own original work. Indeed, his scores outshine Roland Ragland, Angela Morley, and Richard Lasalle (although Lasalle had a knack for quirky melody). 2016 marks not only the 75th anniversary of Wonder Woman - but the 40th anniversary of the Lynda Carter series. I was hoping that there would be some love given to the series this year. There have been rumors of a Blu-ray announcement (and why not?--the show is already available in HD on Amazon and Google and iTunes platforms) but a MUSIC release...now THAT is something I could have only dreamed of! But then, I'm probably reading too much into this. HA! What can I say? I'm a Wonder Woman fanboy. Speaking of which, I'll be launching the SATIN TIGHTS podcast this summer. We'll be exploring every episode of the Lynda Carter series. I had to do SOMETHING for the anniversary! :-)

I've not seen any of the Batman animated series. You must rectify that ASAP. Truly the greatest version of Batman ever made. Sure, it starts out a little bit clunky with the man-bat episode, and there is still the occasional clunker in the series, but many episodes are just incredible. Even Robin is done right. Yavar

MV You couldn't be MORE right on that. Vinyl is not easy and man does it take forever. Can't wait to get these two and they look GREAT LLL!

So at least 2 more CD titles are joining The Killing Joke, and possibly two more beyond that. Super cool!

Although I have no interest in these fandom novelty items, I hope they make you gobs of money to make up for the losses you've taken over the years on passion projects that have brought me great joy. Much success, MV.
