Eh, TV doesn't insult me. Very little does. If I find something entertaining, I watch it. If I don't, I don't - no matter who composed the score. I get you're on a labor of soundtrack love, but for me, the idea of sitting through a TV series I obviously hate simply to hear the music sounds like it would be a massive waste of my time.
Anyhow, I find these shows fun and diverting. YMMV

Well, I do. exceeding better television was not only made at the time, but decades before.
I get you're on a labor of soundtrack love, but for me, the idea of sitting through a TV series I obviously hate simply to hear the music sounds like it would be a massive waste of my time.
Well, as I've said a number of time in various threads, I'm skimming these to hear the score. And it's been joy to hear all this excellent unreleased scoring!
Not a waste of time for me. If anything it saves me time from actually trying a show out and watching episodes all the way through, and -- for example -- if a label like La La Land Records announced a 2CD set of scoring from "Manimal", I no longer need ask if it's worth it or seek samples on Youtube, I now know it's a definitive purchase from me.

The episode had a good deal of songs and most of the score was comprised of short transition cues (in the first half of the episode). Yes, I know my first highlight as a short transition, but it was a good one so I had to cite it.

With 'cursor' as himself. There's novelty for ya.
Truly, this is the first I've heard of the show. For one reason or another, it never reached the UK, or if it did, it somehow escaped me. The identity of any particular series was heavily identified with its MT theme and, as mentioned, not being at all familiar with the show I latched onto that jingle immediately. Just shows how the composer has a large chunk of responsibility for bagging a 'gotcha' with the music alone, even though the hook seems to be fairly subliminal and 'innocent' at first glance. 
The Tron-like neon tube-lighting and 'tech' overtones, along with the time period seem to fall into place with the sparkly musical pathway choice taken for the 'Automan' signature, in hindsight.

It's a short film by David Hewlett of Stargate: Atlantis fame. He's kind of a big deal in some film-making circles in Canada. Check out 'Cube'.
I would totally watch Hewlett as a holograophic computer generated virtual person >cough< TRON (allegedly).
Chuck Wagner originated the role of one of the Princes in 'Into The Woods'- he's no slouch in the acting/singing dept.
Damn, but 80s television is so bad it hurts- so many fairly killer sci-fi/fantasy/action concepts killed by flat story-telling and low budgets (though that helicopter must have cost a pretty penny), and the producers/networks not trusting the audience.

I saw him as Javert in Les Miserables. SO AMAZING!
