Whoa! Didn't see this one coming, at all. Love the film though.

The screen shot I saw said...
Music Composed by Mike Moran
'Dream Away' by George Harrison

What movie is it for, though? This is getting ridiculous.

Since I was reading on my phone that was really the only thing that was clear.

I'm so happy the score for Monty Pythons The Meaning Of Life is being released!
DOES it include the Crimson Pernanent Assurance music? The cover & podcast were unclear.

Great way to end March!

Is the rest of the score synth work like the opening credits piece?

On IMDB page: Music Department
Ray Cooper ... music producer / musician: percussion sequences
George Harrison ... composer: additional music
Trevor Jones ... composer: Greek dance music
Mike Moran ... orchestrator
Harry Rabinowitz ... musical director
Ray Cooper ... composer: additional music (uncredited)

No mention of Trevor Jones on the Intrada cover...I wonder if his dance music will be on this.

I was surprised many years ago to read that John Du Prez wrote it (and is a pseudonym for his birthname Trevor Jones)

Actually, I vaguely now remember someone pointing to a youtube link that suggested the dance piece was a pre-existing traditional piece.

The extremely brief Jones' source music wasn't on the master. But honestly, you're not missing much.

So, was that by Du Prez/Jones, or "Dark City" Trevor Jones?

I so remember hoping to find a score album when this came out - I just adored Time Bandits. Really still my favorite Gilliam film. So that's cool, just about 40 years wait no prob....

INSTANT buy!

Not familiar with the score.

That's what the mini-podcast (and later sound clips) are for! smile

Thanks for the answer, Roger! I'm not too bothered about it (I do like Jones's source music on Excalibur, if that ever gets an official release tho'!) and this is a very fascinating release -- kudos.

If I remember correctly, the sound on my Anchor Bay VHS copy was always a little wonky--like the really loud sound FX almost sounded like they were being put through a phase shifter. I also remember the score being very eclectic with equal orchestral and synth sounds. I have fond memories of this film from my teenage years.

Great ! Thanks Intrada a Fantastic première for a great movie, hope an Expanded Kamen Munschausen next time.

Of course the first reply is "That's nice but what I really want is..."

FFS.

Found it. Apparently the dance music is available here under the track "Bacchanalia". Indeed John Du Prez. Doesn't quite sound like it's the same recording, close though.

But I digress - the Intrada CD will likely go down as my favorite release of the year.

Cool! I have fond memories of the film. I think I saw it in the early 90s on the telly, and taped it to VHS -- so I saw it quite a few times. The score was pretty good too -- what happened to Mike Moran, anyway? Did he do any more scores?

Also, I assume this is a premiere release, or has it been released before?

What's an Intrada?

I believe it's related to an enchilada.
