It might seem a bit weird but my response to this one is to suggest a chronological re-release of the first 10 scores that Yavar listed.

Generally, older scores require more work to prepare for soundtrack release than newer ones. That’s not an absolute and isn’t meant as a comment with specificity on these scores. But I think in saving the past from the future, it’s often worthy to start back as far as we can.

Doing so also gets us to include a theoretically new edition of Medicine Man, which I think was a great blend of orchestra and synths, beautifully recorded by Mike Ross-Trevor.

Truth is I'm extatic and happy beyond words to finally have U.S.MARSHALS because it was the holiest of my holy grails.

But hey, let's be greedy... wink So would say I definitelly want ALONG CAME A SPIDER Complete (with the End Credits assamble).

Also HOLLOW MAN which I believe has some additional unreleased cues worth having and would make a terrific new 2CD set.

Plus finally, why not a dream project: the Complete Jerry Goldsmith's 13TH WARRIOR + the Rejected Graeme Revell score.

Does Mulan not qualify because it's a Disney title? Because if it does, that's a top choice for me.

2. Matinee
3. Looney Tunes: Back in Action
4. The Other
5. The 13th Warrior
6. Timeline (basically replicating the "promo" content)

Good thing those premieres you wish for can come from *any* label, Thor! smile I think this just isn't the thread for you, since its entire raison d'être is to consider new editions of titles Varese controls (and no other label can release) due to their prior (usually incomplete, as you prefer) releases of these scores.

Varese, Schmarese....I don't really care which label releases these premieres, as long as someone does. But as I said, first I need to fill a few OST gaps. I have 64 Goldsmith albums, which is peanuts compared to many of you, a lot to others. But still many essentials missing.

Well personally, I wouldn't want ANY of his titles at Varese. They are the most subpar label of any. Why do we have to have the best titles in their entirety on LIMITED CD CLUB only releases? VS are a bunch of thieves who's only mainstream releases these days are film scores to bad movies by millenial filmmakers who don't really know what they're doing, and are completely unmemorable. They only put out half hour soundtracks of the REPUTABLE composers. I swear I will never understand them.

Take Delores Claiborne - that should have been expanded YEARS ago! It's a damn pity that it took so long and probably would HAVE been released completely were it not for VS stupid perpetuity rights! I am so sick of them sitting on all these good titles and then releasing them limited. Outrageous.

So no, I don't want ANY Goldsmith, Williams, or any of the other "classic" composers from Varese. They aren't worthy of producing these great masters' work.

The Mephisto Waltz (1971)
The Other (1972)
Count me in for these two scores because the Varese edition never satisfied me.

MacArthur (1977)
Same thing with that title because the album is too short.

1) The Other (1972) - Great score that really carries the film. This must be released complete and in improved sound.

2) Damien: Omen II (1978) - This score needs to be restored in good sound quality.

3) The 13th Warrior (1999) - Would be great if including Goldsmith's complete (plus Revell unused score if possible).

4) Looney Tunes: Back in Action (2003) complete, with Debney's music.

5) Timeline (2003)

6) Along Came a Spider (2001) - not a particular favorite but has a lot of music missing from the 30 min album.

7) Hollow Man (2000)

8) Medicine Man (1992)

9) The Mephisto Waltz (1971)

10) Malice - not very much missing but I think it is a great underrated score that I'd like to have complete with the few missing bits.

Keeping in mind what I had posted above - I do believe these listed scores deserve a remastering so that they sound crisp and clear.

Final Conflict with the missing Speaker’s Corner cue.

Robert Townson told me that he controls this title under his Master's Film Music label. Now that he's no longer at Varese, I don't think they have any rights to the score. But I hope that he produces a new edition himself, with this cue and the other few missing cues. It's a masterpiece and we need every note!

Of the "non-Varese" titles a complete Leviathan is currently my Nb. 1 most wanted Jerry expanded score.

The Final Conflict is a second, not much missing music but this is such a fantatisc score that I'd like every note of it.
The Speaker's Corner cue is great indeed (even if it is more or less a variant on material heard in The Ambassador) but my most missed cue from this score is the one for the scene on which Peter (the reporter's son) is following Father DeCarlo. Also interesting to note that the original album included an alternate of "Parted Hair" and the deluxe is the film version (minus the stinger at the end - I wonder if that stinger was recorded by Goldsmith or added in post production).
The Varese Deluxe already sound much better than the original release, but I wonder if a new release could sound even better - also the design choice of the Deluxe editions (red, green and yellow covers for the trilogy) was interesting, but with the latest edition of the first using the superior original art for cover I'd prefer II and III to be back to their original posters.

Also Yavar, you seem to be missing a #6 in your top 10 list.

In what parallel universe can I have an expanded LOVE FIELD done by Intrada and THE OTHER by LLL? 'Cause I want nothing from Varèse...

1) Rudy
2) Rudy
3) Rudy
4) Rudy
5) Rudy
6) Rudy
7) Rudy
8) Rudy
9) The Mephisto Waltz
10) Rudy

Lessee here... for ranked choice voting that means Mephisto Waltz gets 2 points and Rudy gets 10 + 9 + 8 + 7 + 6 + 5 + 4 + 3 + 1 = 53 points, eh? wink

Sorry but I'll give Rudy 10 points and Mephisto Waltz 9. If you want to support any other titles besides those two I highly recommend adding them to a new top 10.

Also Yavar, you seem to be missing a #6 in your top 10 list.

Thanks for catching that; I inadvertently deleted it -- and it just so happens it was a new and improved Mephisto Waltz. smile

Speaking of The Final Conflict...

I was listening to it again recently. It is just me, but does the sound sort of fizzle out during the final few cues - "Parted Hair" and "The Iron". It returns in force for the finale but, I don't know, there's something just not quite as present with those cues. It might just be me, of course. The rest of the album is outstanding.
