The fourth disc will present "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Complete Recordings" in 5.1 Surround Sound in DVD format.
You don't have to ask, I read it Dan, thanks. I just want that disc alone.

To be fair, Doug actually pointed out the ComingSoon.net article to me this morning, and then I immediately posted it on SoundtrackNet and here.... and THEN I got the official press release in email.

Blah blah great blah blah jewel....seriously, this seems like such a, well, why in the WORLD would they sell a DVD-A along with three normal CDs? Or is the DVD is a normal one? Ugh, I HATE the way they...poison...CD releases with extras like that. Yes, I know most people like it, but I don''t. next thing it''ll say is that it''ll be some large ugly abnormal box...

DVDs that usually come with soundtracks barely add to the cost. Think of it this way, Josh: you get three CDs and a coaster.

So, does that mean this fourth disc includes the entire contents of the other three discs in 5.1 Surround Sound? And which DVD format - DVD-Audio or DVD-Video with DTS and/or Dolby Digital sound?

I've been saving for a while...I just hope I've saved enough. The FOTR release date is a month after my birthday (Oct. 20), with dates for the other two as yet unknown, but as long as I get them it doesn't really matter in the long run.
Seeing how late in November the first release is, does that make the assumption that all three will be out by Christmas a spectacularly naive one?

), but to me there are simply too many great moments missing from the 1-disc releases. Especially in FOTR, there is this wonderful opening or the masterful introduction of the Gondor Theme during the Coucil of Elrond.
