I understand. However, then there must be at least 20-30 minutes worth of unused music in the pilot that is being tracked throughout the season. I just remember it as being quite a lot of new stuff in the Williams-credited episodes. Either that or the cues in question were composed by someone else -- uncredited -- since the episode as a whole only credited Williams. But you're more into this than I am, so you're more likely to have the overview. According to my research..." Broughtfan, can't tell you how much I'm enjoying the new light you're shedding on all of this. Thank you for sharing! Same here! This is great info on one of my favourite shows -- musically -- of all time.

I just revisited the show on DVD a while back and was reminded of how catchy all the music is. I think all those short cues could indeed make a nice album. Intrada has done so beautifully with scores that had several short tracks that fit together really well and were a satisfying listening experience. Let's all keep hopin' for Gilligan! DSS

A few nights ago I made sound recordings of the Hamlet musical from my DVR. That episode wasn't getting deleted until I had the songs. If there were to be a Gilligan CD, getting those vocals included should be a major priority. As far as I could tell, everyone but Phil Silvers did their own singing.

Bumping an old topic again... But I thought it was appropriate here, as opposed to a new thread: Does anyone know anything about Gerald Fried's score to Rescue From Gilligan's Island? I have always liked hearing it growing up and seeing the movie, but I have no idea if the score would even still exist. I also think a Gilligan's Island Original Soundtrack CD is in order.. for fans of early John Williams, as well as to have a proper release of the original theme song (both versions).

Fried has his own copies of the three TV movie soundtracks (the Gilligan Trilogy, if I may be so bold). You can email me if you want more info. I don't think he has any of the TV show music. I'd be interested in a TV series soundtrack release, even if it's a ninety-nine 48-second cues. Me too!

I was always aware of the show's music as a kid. Certain cues were repeated throughout the seasons, as they represented danger, humour, etc. I'd love to see a 2CD set of this great music. Me too!!

Do you remember that syncopated danger music on the bongo? Can you point to an episode or moment where it's used? I'm not sure which one you mean.

But it appeared plenty of times, usually when the castaways were comedically running away from danger.
