This is welcome. Hollow Man would have been more welcome, mind you. Another time, perhaps.
True, but Hollow Man was served very well by the generous album. Along Came A Spider was hardly allowed time to breathe on the first CD, so while the score isn't as good, IMHO, it's in more urgent need of expanding.
I hope this is an actual composed piece of music and not a music editor-created end title piece pasted on the end of the genuine finale cue (like Intrada did on The Mummy). No issue with these non-composed end titles being included when they're indexed separately (like on Varese's US Marshals and Air Force One) but not a fan of these pasted-together things being put at the end of "proper" cues.
Yeah, I'm not a big fan of these pasted end titles either. It's not necessary to paste in material that's been included elsewhere on the album, unless there were connecting tissues created by the composer (as was the case with Total Recall).

Good point. Plus we have the iso score and commentary to enjoy with Hollow Man. Boy, I wish Goldsmith had been asked to do more of those.

Sadly, darned if we include them, darned if we don't. We learned a lot when Cary took over and we have been trying to be more attuned to what the fans want on these releases (see: Looney Tunes and AFO as examples).
It really has become trying to make fans as happy as possible.

So people don't like the cut'n'paste end titles even though they are actually in the film like that....but are fine with a fully (or almost fully) redundant 'album' version, sometimes upping the price and/or the space the thing takes up?

If you listen to the end of "Not My Partner," it is clearly meant to segue into the piece repeated for the end credits.

True, the very end of that cue uses the same rhythm as The Ransom, which I'm guessing is included in the credits suite.
Yeah totally. It’s obviously meant to connect to “The Ransom” and it flows beautifully. It’s not like The Mummy where they just kinda squished it all together.

You're doing a fine job. I think most folks would agree. Just the dissenting opinions stand out.
