Indeed, and you can download Mp3s of Night at the Museum 2 for free, as well as Alias: The Game, Muppets Party Cruise, Jumper, and a couple scores from what seem to be short films (The Sunday Man and La Lune):

I forgot Jumper, that's awesome too. Better than Powell's electronic heavy score.

The score to Jumper: Griffon's Story and the Night at the Smithsonian 2 Video Game is great. Tilton has proved that he can do quite well scoring on his own.

Still pumped about the upcoming box! smile

I'm already overjoyed. If only one can sign, I'll be ecstatic. If 2 or 3 can sign, I will be so happy I may burst!

I`ve just found out that probably the first video-game music ever recorded with a full orchestra was produced by EA GAMES.... THE LOST WORLD - JURASSIC PARK... bye MICHAEL GIACCHINO...

didn`t know that....

I know there`s an official release, but is there any chance for you guys(lalaland..) to remaster and expand this one ????

its a very crucial soundtrack, for both video games industry and Michael Giacchino curriculum.

Bruce Broughton's Heart Of Darkness is dated 1994, a full 4 years before Giacchino's JP score.

I don't think that's entirely correct. A ton of Japanese VGM had been recorded using a full orchestra years before 1998.

I think that's the one officially recognized as the first. I also remember being completely blown away by it, so much that right after installation, I restarted the game before even playing it just so I could hear the music again.

There's a lot more Giacchino I would rather have over The Lost World.

Warpath for one.

Yes, although both Jurassic Park games are DreamWorks Interactive.

I believe it refered to OSTs, not album recordings. The Lost World was probably the first COMPLETELY orchestral game score -- to be released. Heart of Darkness actually came after Lost World because of many delays. And though some Japanese games used orchestra previously (Grandia, Sakura Wars, probably a couple others), they didn't have FULL orchestral scores, just some tracks.

Yes, wich to my knowledge was acquired by EA and continuing producing the Medal of Honor games.

Giacchino's score to the Jurassic Park video game was the first CONSOLE video game to use a full symphony orchestra.

I think the first one was Heart of darkness (console and pc game) by Broughton. If I remember well, it was recorded in 1993. After that, the game was delayed and finally reached the stores in 1998 or 1999. We have to keep 1993 as the beginning of orchestral music for a video game!
