I got word back from our pressing plant as well as James Nelson, the mastering engineer on the project -- There is nothing wrong with the Master. It was a bad batch of cds. How many, we don't know... but since we have sent out nearly 1800 units and only 10 people (plus 2 I have here in the office) have been reported bad it's a safe bet its not a bunch of them.

I have already had the 10 replacement copies packed up and ready to ship off today for those who emailed me. I personally went through the discs using 3 players here in the office and they are all fine.

Should you have one of the bad ones, once again email me for a replacement:

Thanks MV. Your customer service is top notch.

Yes, it's one thing to give your money to a place that offers a rare or superior product, but a whole other level when you give your money to good, honest people who trat your patronage right. I couldn't be more delighted with how MV has handled this and I will always tout LLL products to any interested parties with pride.

Hi, new here... I received my CD set yesterday. Thanks to finding this forum a couple months ago, and catching the announcement of the upcoming release of this disc set, I was able to get one, and the autograph too! big grin I just finished ripping the discs to my computer, which is my main listening source. Have checked the last track of disc 3, and it played without any skips.

Since there is no album/track info on the discs, I'll be busy with tag editing to get all the info onto my computer. Thanks to LaLa Land Records, though, for having the track names on their site...makes things a whole lot easier!

Thanks (again) to LLL Records and Mark Snow for this wonderful collection of music! big grin

Has anybody from Canada who ordered directly from La La Land received their X Files set yet, and if so, what province (or territory, as in my case) do you live in?

Guy.

MV,

My disc 3 is just fine. These things haven't left my CD player / iPod since yesterday when they arrived. I've listened non-stop. I grew up on The X-Files.

I can't thank you enough. Keep up the amazing work and I'll keep buying. Just wonderful!!

THANK YOU!

I checked my disc 3 as soon as I got home. Thankfully, there are no issues with the last track on my copy and I tried it in 3 different (some rather old) players as well as my computer. No hiccups, skips or glitches whatsoever.

I'm ripping all the discs now and the discs ARE encoded with the track titles (at least they are for me using Roxio audio ripper).

Thanks, LaLaLand! You've done it again!

This is going to sound like a super-lame question, but does anyone have the cover art (with Mulder/Scully) in a 1:1 ratio? I know I can force it Photoshop but that squashes their faces and if I cut of the sites, it cuts into the faces and/or text.

Yes, I know - super OCD. smile

Just wondering if MV or anyone had a copy in that format.

Again, hats of to everyone responsible. I know the term gets used a lot - but talk about Holy Grail for me!

Wow!! 1,800 units in a week! If this keeps up you guys should be sold out by next week or the end of the month at the latest.

MV, I don't know if my email request was included in one of the ten, but that particular disc in my set was definitely bad.

My cd3 - last track is fine too.

I haven't heard the set yet (I received it two days ago) and probably I won't be able to do it for a few days, but I checked this track for what I heard about it here and everything is OK. Great release!

I believe the litmus test for a company's integrity is how it reacts when something goes wrong, as in the case of a manufacturing defect or other mistake. La-La Land continues to impress (and amaze) me with their level of customer service by their reaction to the defective CDs in the "X-Files"set. Even though it appears the number was quite low with respect to the total output, they nevertheless responded properly and immediately. Fortunately I was not victimized by the defect, but if I ever encounter a similar problem in the future I'll know I won't be ignored.

Nope. Can't be done without ruining the integrity of the image as you stated.

I made a 1.136:1 version (on www.albumartexchange) to which you could add your own black/grey borders on top & bottom.

Otherwise you could scan the booklet cover into 1:1 with little trouble.

Hi Guy,

I'm in Montreal and I just got my delivery notice card in the mail this morning (so the postman may have tried delivering it yesterday).

Anyway, picked it up at the post office at lunchtime; it looks like a great set. I got my autographed cover and the third disc seems fine (on my system at least)... Can't wait to listen to the whole set!

So anyway, If you haven't gotten it yet, it shouldn't be much longer now!

:-)

p.s. iTunes now recognises the tracknames so I didn't have to type anything in like others had to...

I got my shipping notice last Friday...and still no X-Files set. Grrrr I wanna hear this so badly. I am aggravated with the USPS. Come one now...Git-R-Done! LOL! I def would have expected to get mine by today since they were mailed Priority Mail as people said. What is that 2-3 days anywhere in the USA? I understand MV and the guys have no control once these packages leave their offices.

La-La Land does a fantastic job getting these orders out in a timely fashion. Top notch customer service indeed and deserves label of the year as far as I'm concerned! Just need to USPS to deliver these goods....getting anxious!
