Nice try. Totoro, look again. The post WillGoldNewtonBarryGrusin was quoting above had "Yawn." at the end of it. Did you write that? No. He was replying to TheAvenger's "Yawn." *reply* to you, not your post which TheAvenger quoted. Yavar

Not maybe. Your post didn't have "Yawn." at the bottom. He was 100% definitely hit "reply" to TheAvenger, otherwise there would have been no "Yawn." Don't look for a fight where none exists. There are plenty enough already that exist. Yavar

I really want these discussions to be friendly and devoid of bullydom.

I didn’t accuse. I pointed out the obvious knee jerk negativity on your part (and others’) which was clear for anyone to see. But then you acted like because it was your opinion it couldn’t be negative, and I realized how stupid the conversation was getting, so I stopped engaging with you on the subject. Yavar

Yavar I still agree with you and hope no one is misinterpreting this. Back to the topic, I am looking forward to the film and the score. I might be disappointed. It cannot be like the first three films due to Ford‘s age. But it can be something new and exciting. And to have Williams score this it will at least be a fitting end to Ford‘s tenure musically. Also, for all those who hate the idea of Indy 5 and another JW score - there is the opportunity to not watch and listen to it. No mandatory enjoyment!

So like I was saying, I think we’re on the right track here. Indy and Marion are running a mom and pop museum in JACKSONHOLE, WYOMING in the 70s AND as a meta reference, a Hollywood movie just happens to be filming nearby with a recently popular filmmaker... Mutt is a total jerk and has gone to Hollywood to become an actor, starring in a movie called “Caves” and is estranged from Indy. Phoebe Waller Bridge shows up as Marcus’ granddaughter who is escaping from a hippy commune cult led by Mads Mikkelsen. Indy and Marion take her in and they all work to revitalize the museum. I’m talking “The Big Chill” meets “Ordinary People” meets “On Golden Pond” meets “Mystic Pizza” meets “The Bridges of Madison County”. And Clint Eastwood stars as the local sheriff of the town in a small cameo.

OH and Sallah comes into town with his family too because they’re leaving Egypt after the Yom Kippur War and OPEC crisis, and they are reunited with Indy and Marion in Wyoming. And then they all trek to Devil’s Tower where they all talk about the progress of life, a la “Grand Canyon”. Pure domestic drama with a dash of “Peyton Place” coming from Mutt’s bad attitude from being a semi-famous celebrity.

AND THEN if they really wanted to get all meta and fan-pleasing, I think it would be acceptable if Indy owns a tiny old biplane and the cult leader Mads Mikkelsen tries to attack him while Indy is fixing the plane, and then Indy kicks him off the plane and says “Get off my plane!” Like, I think that’s an acceptable level of meta jokes to include in the film. But NO MORE than that!
