Nice try.

Totoro, look again. The post WillGoldNewtonBarryGrusin was quoting above had "Yawn." at the end of it. Did you write that? No. He was replying to TheAvenger's "Yawn." *reply* to you, not your post which TheAvenger quoted.

Maybe. But he attacked me with this kind of prejudice before, so I look at this with a grain of salt.

Not maybe. Your post didn't have "Yawn." at the bottom. He was 100% definitely hit "reply" to TheAvenger, otherwise there would have been no "Yawn." Don't look for a fight where none exists. There are plenty enough already that exist. smile

Thank you, exactly right.

But, Totoro, again, apologies if I offended you before.

I really want these discussions to be friendly and devoid of bullydom.

Indeed, but he wrote "The usual suspects again", in the plural. Since I was the one arguing against the bully it seems that he is calling me a bully too.

But let it go.

I can see where the miscommunication happened between you two, but when he referred to plural "usual suspects" he was talking about multiple other people (not you) in this same thread who were joining in the griping about Indiana Jones being infected with woke feminism. smile

One must assume that these folks don't care much for the original Raiders of the Lost Ark, where Indy kinda stumbles around regularly screwing up for the most part, and has a tough female love interest who can largely handle herself quite well. I'm guessing their favorite is Temple of Doom, where Indy has a more traditional female love interest who is a squeamish shrieking damsel in distress, and Indy gets to be the competent expert while she constantly gets him in trouble. big grin

This was clearly a troll post and you accuse me of being negative. LOL

I didn’t accuse. I pointed out the obvious knee jerk negativity on your part (and others’) which was clear for anyone to see. But then you acted like because it was your opinion it couldn’t be negative, and I realized how stupid the conversation was getting, so I stopped engaging with you on the subject.

I still agree with you and hope no one is misinterpreting this.

Back to the topic, I am looking forward to the film and the score. I might be disappointed. It cannot be like the first three films due to Ford‘s age. But it can be something new and exciting. And to have Williams score this it will at least be a fitting end to Ford‘s tenure musically.

Also, for all those who hate the idea of Indy 5 and another JW score - there is the opportunity to not watch and listen to it. No mandatory enjoyment!

Expressing an honest opinion based on personal experience and preference is negativity- But Trolling isn't negativity, got it.
BTW, your troll post isn't just combative its categorically wrong.

Maybe you (and others) could save your regressive political ranting for elsewhere, since this is a film music forum?

Yavar

He cannot help himself.

Yawn.

The usual suspects again with their juvenile bully behavior.

Yavar is right.

“Bully behaviour”? Do please show me where I’ve “bullied” anyone.

That's not politics.

I'm very excited for this score and look forward to his new theme like he did for THE RISE OF SKYWALKER, I loved his new theme for that one!

So like I was saying, I think we’re on the right track here.

Indy and Marion are running a mom and pop museum in JACKSONHOLE, WYOMING in the 70s AND as a meta reference, a Hollywood movie just happens to be filming nearby with a recently popular filmmaker...

Mutt is a total jerk and has gone to Hollywood to become an actor, starring in a movie called “Caves” and is estranged from Indy.

Phoebe Waller Bridge shows up as Marcus’ granddaughter who is escaping from a hippy commune cult led by Mads Mikkelsen. Indy and Marion take her in and they all work to revitalize the museum.

I’m talking “The Big Chill” meets “Ordinary People” meets “On Golden Pond” meets “Mystic Pizza” meets “The Bridges of Madison County”.

And Clint Eastwood stars as the local sheriff of the town in a small cameo.

Hey, could that be the reason I like "Raiders" AND "Crystal Skull" the most (...one of the few people on this planet, for sure)? Well, what do you know! cool

OH and Sallah comes into town with his family too because they’re leaving Egypt after the Yom Kippur War and OPEC crisis, and they are reunited with Indy and Marion in Wyoming.

And then they all trek to Devil’s Tower where they all talk about the progress of life, a la “Grand Canyon”.

Pure domestic drama with a dash of “Peyton Place” coming from Mutt’s bad attitude from being a semi-famous celebrity.

AND THEN if they really wanted to get all meta and fan-pleasing, I think it would be acceptable if Indy owns a tiny old biplane and the cult leader Mads Mikkelsen tries to attack him while Indy is fixing the plane, and then Indy kicks him off the plane and says “Get off my plane!”

Like, I think that’s an acceptable level of meta jokes to include in the film.

But NO MORE than that!

I just hope this new film doesn't fall into Raiders' trap where our heroes just spontaneously know the solution to how to survive their predicament with no set-up or mention. It's the only thing that keeps Raiders from being a 10 out of 10 for me.
