Wow they can't keep The Rocketeer on the shelves!! It's a great score. Congrats on such a quick sellout Intrada!
I picked up Lost in Space and Reincarnation of Peter Proud--both are blind purchases. I figure if I don't like them I can sell them to someone who missed out. I was gonna listen to samples but I kind of like the idea of having no idea what I'm getting other than that they're Broughton and Goldsmith, both of whom I adore.
Also picked up The Great Escape because at 3 CDs for $20, it's priced to sell! Love the film and have fond memories of watching it as a kid. I can't remember much of the score but I know it's an essential EB.
Wasn't The Rocketeer "Out of Stock" for like four or five years? Then back in stock for what, six months? Now its "Out of Print". Very strange.
... and it's going for big bucks on Ebay!
Maybe they'll repress it again, in a slightly different configuration (hopefully without songs) on a single disk, like the rumors for the Jaws repressing.
Because why not? The score is a money-maker and classic Horner. It makes sense economically and for film music posterity.

I emailed Roger about the Blackhole after it sold out and he just replied it’s Disney. There wasn’t anything he could do. Maybe in the future.

I’m a big fan of the LIS score. Can’t say I love every track but there is a lot of good stuff on there.
Don't sleep on THE AMAZING MR. BLUNDEN, particularly for any Bernstein fans who cherish his work in MOCKINGBIRD mode.
Heartbreakingly good.
Also, it looks like Lost in Space has disappeared into a wormhole. (Damn you, Smith!)
In going through the audio on these releases, I'm stunned that I was so willing to ignore Mussolini and Son of the Morning Star the first time out, a mistake I don't intend on duplicating.
Just ordered The Amazing Mr Blunden along with Mussolini: The Untold Story along with J Howard's Alive. And within hours I got a shipping notification. Thanks Jeff!!
Oh wow! Your savings are about as much as the list price, and your expenses are about twice as much.
Yavar
Yeah, it's really depressing to see what Deep Discount has become. They used to have some of the best deals; now it's like they find the highest price they can for everything and mark it down just enough to mock you with the leftover expense.
