We are watching REACHER. At least the main guy is a lot bigger than Tom Cruise.

We are finding that the mystery in this first season is layered and interesting.

Yes it's a slow starter (just like the opening episode of Game Of Thrones), but once I was into episode two I was hooked, & I think there's a lot more to it than just bloody deaths.

Now for my next Netflix series, my niece recommends The Witcher, which I will watch, but I think the next one will be the French, Call My Agent season two.

I actually found Ep 1 to be the "best" of them all, certainly in its sheer weirdness. Thereafter it had its ups and downs but, as Rameau says, each episode reveals a new facet of the story and by the end it becomes quite moving, with a lot to say about modern society. Hey Kev, my mother-in-law gave up after the first episode too. I wonder if you are by any chance related.

Started the much-pushed Fear Index on sky.

I hope it gets better coz so far its been utter crap.

Theyre taking forever to show one baffling thing after another, and im like the army in Holy Grail... "GET ON WITH IT!!"

I've just finished Dexter season 6 & really enjoyed it, & that last scene is a real game changer. So just two seasons to go, & I'm ready for the last season to be a disappointment, although you never know, I might enjoy it. I'll give it a rest for a couple of months & try something else (I've a whole list of Netflix series that I want try).

I'm watching EVIL series 2.
I quite enjoyed series 1, but this is starting to push things a little too far.
It can be too spoofy/goofy for its own good (much like the producers' other show THE GOOD FIGHT).
I'll stick with it and see where it goes.

Watched GHOSTBUSTERS AFTERLIFE last night and really enjoyed it. Terrific work by Rob Simonson interpolating the "Bernstein Ghostbusters Sound" for this new effort.

This Is Going To Hurt (BBC 2022)

…otherwise known as "Nothing New to See Here in This Dramedy About the (Deliberately) Underfunded NHS in Congenitally Classist Britain, Expect That Ben Whishaw's Dedicated and Overworked Obstetrician Does Get to Smash Boy Parts With an Especially Strapping Irish Lad".

That said, Ambika Mod does put in a rather good show as a beleaguered up and coming doctor trying to cope under pressure. Honestly, the series should have centred around her instead.

The Porter S1E1 (CBC/BET 2022)

A clunky, rushed first episode that still manages to make for a worthwhile opener to the dramatized account of the foundation of the first (CAN/USA) Black union in the world. Hopefully it takes a more measure pace in upcoming episodes.

The Witcher ep. one. I really enjoyed it & look forward to seeing the rest of the series. Netflix has opened up a whole new viewing world.

Watching Viking Valhalla. Good so far. It takes place 100 years after the original Vikings series.

Finished season one of Happy Valley. I had heard that it was a superior British crime series. I thought it was just okay. I thought at times there was too much padding; however, the mystery was good. Some of the main characters talked so rapidly with strong accents, I couldn't follow their dialogue. No subtitle options existed.

Reacher S1 (2022)

Alan Ritchson is as affable a walking slab of meat as you're going to find. Great casting here.

First episode is very, very good at establishing the appropriate tone and hitting all the beats the wandering anti-hero genre is noted for, while the next four episodes go on to adeptly sustain this fantasy.(Hey, look what can happen when you respect the source material).

Clearly Nick Santora doesn't suffer from the widespread delusion that a TV show should be attempting to cure the USA's social ills by using it (ironically enough) as a divisive political soapbox.

That said, the last three episodes demonstrate the weaknesses inherent in the procedural crime thriller when, after there is no more left to be said about character and/or plot, the audience is served a rehash of what came before interspersed with a series of lackluster action sequences wherein the bad guys stand around spilling their dastardly plans.

Had the first season been wrapped up in 6 episodes I'd call Reacher a resounding success. As it stands, however, it's no more than an entertaining diversion.

Pieces of Her on Netflix. I really liked the novel, but this series is not engaging. The acting is poor, and the series is padded. May have to use the fast forward button to finish it.

Ipcress file ep1 with Joe Cole.
Proof that you need more than a brown trenchcoach and nhs glasses to have michael caine's presence, timing and delivery. It wasnt unwatchable but sorry Joe, go back to Gangs of London.

"Yes, Sir. ....i shall miss that, Sir"
