Dig GILLIGAN ever get off the ISLAND? Yes, their first reunion movie took care of everything. But it wasn't a finale, because then they did a couple more movies IIRC.

Reaper. The show ended with a cliffhanger that placed pretty much all of the leads in a terrible position. If the show had been renewed, they would presumably have gotten out of those circumstances and perhaps given a satisfying conclusion to the various storylines. Sadly, that was not to be, and we got an ending that did not at all match the tone of the show.

Two excellent BBC AMERCIA shows Copper The Hour BOTH had cliffhangers at the end of their second and last season!

Would Star Trek: TOS count? Star Trek: TAS (end of five-year mission potential not realized there). The Prisoner, as it seemed his experience "looped." The shows affected by the so-called "rural purge" of 1971: The Beverly Hillbillies, Green Acres for sure. The Time Tunnel, Space: 1999 (third series was reportedly planned), Land of the Giants, Get Smart, I Spy, The Man From U.N.C.L.E, The Wild Wild West, The Fantastic Journey, Bewitched, Batman, Gunsmoke, Secret Agent/Danger Man (McGoohan pulling the plug after the two 'Drake in Japan' color episodes), The Munsters, Car 54, Where Are You?, Mr. Lucky. Did Bonanza have a finale episode?
