I just saw the first four episodes of Mad Men & really enjoyed it, so I'll be watching it for the next few weeks.

The show is imo best when watching an episode every few days, as there's lots of food for thought and great dialogue. It's the only series I know of where I found myself quoting lines from it--and that was only after a single viewing.

"The Hobo Code" from S1 is among my favorite episodes from the entire run of the show.

I just finished watching the first season, fantastic. I think my favourite episode is where Don's boss has the heart attack, & it ends with Don & his new mistress naked & Don telling her (& us) the truth about his childhood, but every episode was great, & six more seasons to look forward to...

The latest episode on sunday of Killing eve has to be the worst filler (c Joan Hue) ever. Nothing happened, it was like a soap episode, and it seems to have floundered a bit.

It is preposteros, but it is good, just seems to be unsure where its trying to go.

I’ve watched the first two episodes of I KNOW THIS MUCH IS TRUE on HBO. I really liked the novel; however, this is difficult to watch. You see constant pain and yelling all housed in bleak cinematography. Mark Ruffalo plays twins, one is normal and one is a paranoid schizophrenic.
Normal twin fights the mental health system to get his brother out of a locked down facility. It is obvious that normal twin needs some help himself as he’s always carried the burden of a severely mentally ill twin.

It is a hard watch. I’m pretty sure Ruffalo will win Golden Globe and Emmy awards. He’s excellent in the role but not a very likable character. He has become quite a good actor. (I.E. The Normal Heart.)

Still watching Killing Eve season 3, but I am finding it a bit too quirky. Finished Baptiste which wasn’t very good. Hubby and I are rewatching Game of Thrones. We are now on season 5. We are getting so much more out of the series, and we have a better understanding the various narratives with this new viewing.

Yes Joan, this season of Killing Eve started off pretty good and then all of a sudden has slipped and unfocused. I'm not really sure what the focus is to be honest. The whole season seems to be a set up for something other plot point, maybe a Final Season 4? I love the performances but overall a bit disappointed.

I've hesitated in watching I KNOW THIS MUCH IS TRUE due to it seeming to be exactly what you said...a tough watch. Not sure I'm up for that, even though I really do like Ruffalo.

Dead To Me

Season One was phenomenally entertaining and suspenseful. Season 2? Mainly talking and drinking wine and crying...Applegate is great as usual but nothing really has happened, except for the characters are standing around waiting for something to happen.

Disappointing overall.

Agreed, Tom. I think the producers are trying to kind of destroy the mysteries and instead are trying to create a quirky comedy, and that isn't working for me.

Well nine episodes in & I think this is the best season so far. I've read that the series goes off the boil before the end, but so far it's terrific.

Finished Succession which was excellent, just have to wait months for season3.

Watching '70s British TV series Thriller on YouTube, which are actually pretty great.

Ozark season 3 next.

Finished season 3 of Killing Eve. Just a so so season. I think the writers have decided that Villanelle is a much more interesting character than Eve, so Eve has been pushed into the background.

Started Hightown. Not sure I will stick with it. Characters are very unlikable. However, if one wants to see lots of lesbian sex, strippers, drinking, and drugging, one might really like it. (Yep, that ought to pull a few of you in.smile) I am hoping it gets better and that I start to care about the main characters.

I was a late comer to Dexter and i loved it. There were a few complaints about the finale of the final series but overall i thought it was probably in my top 10 series ever.

Also re-watching Fist of Fun, a 90s comedy series with Richard Herring and Stuart Lee.

And Doctor Who - the new Blu-Ray release that included The Face of Evil, which I hadn't seen since the seventies. The change from Sarah Jane to Leela was very age-appropriate for me at the time.

I finished watching Dexter S3 last night, very enjoyable, & everyone was very happy at the end, but I'm sure S4 will change all that, but I won't been watching that until the end of the year. So now it's off to take care of my mum for two weeks, & when I get back I fancy Band Of Brothers, I've only ever seen that once, a long time ago...or maybe Mad Men S2, just so many box sets to look at smile

We’ve watched all three episodes of Vienna Blood, a handsome Sherlockian show set in the early 1900s. A young doctor who’s in thrall to Freud’s theories teams up with a sceptical police inspector to solve murders in the Austrian capital. Some of the plot twists are contrived and the dialogue sufficiently predictable that we spoke quite a few lines along with the actors, but each 90-minute episode galloped along pleasantly and we’d certainly watch more if they bother to make them.

Flew through the first 5 episodes of Schitt's Creek in one go, last night on Netflix.
Very enjoyable and funny.
Looking forward to more eps over the coming evenings.
