I don't remember anything, I’m still inebriated. Your memory is not faulty, Nicolai. You weren't actually there. Just this big cardboard cutout of Mullendore, with all these ever-changing images of his millions of album covers as a background. I must admit, I'm lost with baseball. I'm lost with football too, but the American shows mentioned by Howard do mostly ring a bell with me, and sometimes more than a mere bell, sometimes it's a big giant ding-dong. We got most of them on Brit telly when I was growing up. I don't remember the original runs of the shows unless they were after the late-'60s, but most of them came up again as re-runs. One show which I never saw (it was only shown, I believe sporadically, on some ITV regions) is 12 O'CLOCK HIGH. But I have ordered the LLL discs. Why? Because I have the other three Queen Martin releases, and I couldn't ignore His Majesty Queen Martin IV. Now, that does show signs of mental illness.

Btw when I called out “Hi, Hershey!” and got up that was to pet a neighbor’s dog. He’s cocoa brown and now you know why they call him that. Bad thing when you know the names of all the dogs more than you know the names of their owners. I am sorry to have missed this past Cheers meeting. Sadly, I was stuck at work. With respect to your comment Howard, I have to admit that I am guilty of knowing the names of several neighborhood dogs without having the first idea the names of the owners. I have met them all walking our dogs around the neighborhood and when we give introductions, the human names are almost instantly forgotten while I seem to remember the names of the dogs.

Ahhhh yes, Cain's Brewery...big place on the edge of town. It's also a large, open complex of niche and bespoke pubs and bars. Can be quite pretentious and one for the tourists. And...I've never tasted a pint of ANY of their concoctions...but then, I'm not a drinker of Wobbly Bobs and other Guest Ale type stuff. Some of it looks like it should come with a slice of bread!!

Does Thor do these anymore? I used to attend frequently, even during my self-imposed "exile." I can't recall the last one I attended. Today is Independence Day in the US. A day we decided we didn't need superior sitcoms, ITC productions, curried beans on toast, and the Beatles. Oh, what we've lost...but I will be drinking today. Probably some canned American beer, today being the only day I'll imbibe the stuff. Welcome back Jim! As far as I know, Thor hasn't done a virtual meetup in a long time. Maybe this will inspire him to schedule another! As for me, I have a variety of microbrew IPAs cooling in the fridge. Drinking will probably commence once I fire up the grill. We are currently in a brutal heatwave, so I will take all the cold beverages I can get!

Yes, if it's bottled beer I'm imbibing, I favour the American or Canadian light brands, such as Michelob or Budweiser or Coors. Very refreshing. I rarely drink pints, nor have done since my 20s (probably the reason I'm still playing football aged 59) but do enjoy, on draught, Kronenbourg 1664 or Tuborg if available. I also love a BIG PINT of Cider (or two) with stacks of ice on a warm, sunny day. Those fruit flavoured ones - Rekorderlig, Brothers etc - are zesty nice.

I'm the same with Peroni, Moretti, Estrella and such like. Too hoppy and malty, leaving a bitter aftertaste. I need water afterwards to cleanse Le Pallette. Don't like Becks or Grolsch either. Yes, Tuborg made a bit of a comeback a few years back, especially in the Wetherspoons pubs. Lovely stuff. I do enjoy San Miguel, draught or bottle.

Is Tuborg still a thing? I haven't seen it in years. Can't stand those American and Canadian bottled beers Kev mentioned, horrible tasteless stuff. I do like Peroni and Heineken in the bottles though, give me them any day. Since today's semi-finale match is between England and the Netherlands in the Euro 2024, I will be drinking Heineken. Cheers!

Jim, I promised to give you an update on this, and sorry for the late response. As mentioned earlier in the thread, I still intend to host the 20th - and LAST - edition of the Cheers Zoom chats at some point, an epic all-dayer that starts at noon (for me) to catch whatever Australians there are here at the tailend of THEIR evenings, and then on to 2-3 at night (for me) to get the afternoons with the Americans. With breaks here and there. But things are chaotic for me at the moment, with uncertain aspects in all parts of life, so I've simply not had the surplus energy to do it. I'll be sure to do it as soon as I'm more on top of things. Meanwhile, I hope we can continue to post about our beverages and our weekend/life activities in this thread, both before and after said meeting, like was its original intention back in 2004. This thread is a micro cosmos of my life, and some FSM life, in the last 20 years. (by the way, cool photo, Nicolai, forgot to say that!).
