Sort of fusion jazz indeed, with some sax impro by Barbieri.
But always with solid SMDM based upon Oliver Nelson background music all throughout.




Yes, Gato had a 'rough' sort of quality on the sax that was a million miles away (thankfully) from the 'Kenny G' type sax playing that you hear in smooth jazz. I like that style most on his album Yesterdays which I can recommend.

But his sax improv on this piece was painful to my ears to be honest. Yes, there's a SMDM bassline in the background but even so...

Incidentally, Last Tango in Paris never grabbed me either I'm afraid big grin

I love Jazz & I love this tv show theme but this was ….interesting. Very cool to hear the Six Million Dollar Man parts but the sax solo didn’t do it for me. Glad I heard this though.

Looking forward to the soundtrack release while my hearing is still intact.
