HEY that very thing happened to me Monday at Winn Dixie. I dunno maybe I've given up and conceded "pigeon" but I gave 'em that stuff. Then went home and finished rest online. All that for a supermarket discount? Sheesh. Feels like I've invited the Russians to dinner and I'm the main course.

In the US, it will soon be legal for internet providers to sell your browsing history.

https://www.theregister.co.uk/2017/03/28/congress_approves_sale_of_internet_histories/

And some are vowing to publish the browsing histories of congress members who supported the bill:

I've always wondered what it would be like to exist in an Orwellian nightmare; now I get my chance.

Oh yeah!

Corrupt corporations working side by side with corrupt government. They all need to be jailed. Otherwise there's no fixing it. They're clearly in violation of the constitution, if not out right dismantling it. US has become an authoritarian banana republic oligarchy. (I realize I'm mixing terms there.)

So the iPod that I just found: I loaded a buncha music on it.

Besides taking a zillion years to do it, I had to do it through iTunes, and it renamed every single one of them. Which makes me think Apple is monitoring all this.

(Nothing is free, I guess!)

Boy convenience means everything to some people, huh?

from: http://www.cbsnews.com/news/three-square-market-wisconsin-implant-microchips-employees/

Three Square Market plans to implant chips in the hands of volunteers among its workforce. The technology replaces identification cards used to open doors and operate office equipment.

Three Square Market will likely use the technology the most in the break room. To pay for a candy bar or a bag of pretzels, all an employee would have to do is flick their wrist.

Starbucks tells their employees to install their scheduling app on their smart phones. But it's actually gives Starbucks full access to their employees phones. Starbucks can access any information on the phone, delete any information on the phone and even have admin rights to change settings and even the password on employees phone!

I think I'd be buying a burner phone for that app.

I have a scheduling app on my phone for work... though to my knowledge it doesn't do any of that stuff.
Maybe I should delete my nude selfies just in case? big grin

If I get this right. Amazon offers a video surveillance service for homeowners. So homeowners know who's coming to their doors. Meanwhile Amazon makes millions of dollars in government contracts with local police departments by giving them access to your camera feeds!

Amazon: The new Google.

All the big giants need to be broken up and we need complete reform of privacy laws.
