I'm going to add to my previous list "The chase" (John Barry, rare CD), "Becket" (Rosenthal, rare CD) and "To each his own" & "My foolish heart" (Victor Young) Unfortunately, it looks like a re-recording is our best chance of getting Becket. Last month, Roger confirmed that the tapes for this fine score (including the LP master) are lost. Adding to my previous list, I have recently thought of a legit release of Nicholas and Alexandra, plus releases of the Disney Package films from the 40’s (especially Ichabod and Mr. Toad). Thank you for advising me about that. I fully agree with your observations about Nicholas and Alexandra and, generally speaking, Rodney Bennett and other british film music composers. They´re underrepresented, but we don't know what exists and I fear the worst certainly. Two examples: Malcolm Arnold's Roots of Heaven & The Inn of the Sixth Happiness are available, yes, but only in the grey market. I suppose a 'legit' lincensed release would be highly unlikely unless Kritzerland take a chance, i don´t know.

Not familiar with Roots of Heaven, but I certainly wouldn’t mind a legit release of Inn of the Sixth Happiness. As far as the improbability of a release for either score, there is now the added complication of both films being Fox films, therefore adding Disney into the picture.

Marketa Lazarova - Liska What’s the picture supposed to be of? It’s not showing up on any of my devices. I had heard that there was a CD of Liska’s score released some time ago, but I also read said CD took the music off the final mixed track for the film and it’s supposedly long OOP, which is why I included it in my grail list. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Marketa-Lazarova-Liska-Knezikova-Baborak/dp/B07KLCVY7B/ Goodness, I hadn’t realized there had been a re-recording of the score. I certainly don’t recall seeing a thread here about this (going by the release date listed on the Amazon page, this is quite recent and after I had already seen the film). Can you comment on the quality of the recording, Lokutus?

As far as I know INN OF THE SIXTH HAPPINESS has only been released as a b**t, although I don't have a copy so couldn't vouch for that. But ROOTS OF HEAVEN, which is one my favorite Malcolm Arnold scores and is quite grand, is available on what I believe is a legitimate release. It's from vinyl sources and in mono (it's original format), but sounds very good to my ears. It's kind of an odd release called THE CINEMA of JULIETTE GRECO and contains ROOTS (the highlight), THE SUN ALSO RISES (also from the LP) and some Greco songs. If I'm wrong about the legal status, I apologize and will delete this comment if someone can clarify. https://www.amazon.com/Cinema-Juliette-Greco-JULIETTE-GRECO/dp/B0040U8XLO

Nick Redman was looking for tapes way back, but all they found is on the extra audio track of the Twilight Time Blu-ray for Roots, AFAIK. Same tracks as for the LP as it's missing the two cues recorded by Alfred Newman.

The problem with el/Cherry Red is that you never know what you'll get. They have many titles in their catalog that have been properly licensed, but there is nowhere something like "Licensed from UMG" to be found. Unfortunately, they also tend to brickwall the sound on their releases.

I would like to see additional volumes of these previously released titles: Buck Rogers The Outer Limits Twilight Zone '85 Wonder Woman And unreleased titles: Ray Ellis: Flash Gordon (Filmation) Joel Goldsmith: Hawkeye Jimmie Haskell: Night of the Lepus Elliot Kaplan: Food of the Gods Fred Karger/ Robert J. Walsh: Necromancy I see some of you have listed more than 5 titles. Allow me to expand my list. Richard Markowitz: The Magic Sword Gil Melle: The Ultimate Warrior Stu Phillips: Manimal Stu Phillips: Spider-Man Robert Prince: The Dead Don't Die/ Gargoyles Hans J. Salter: The Black Shield of Falworth Lalo Schifrin: Amityville II: The Possession Lalo Schifrin: The Exorcist (rejected) (this would require recording it) Lalo Schifrin: The Manitou Howard Shore: King Kong (rejected) (this would require recording it) Patrick Williams: Ssssss 3 of these are Bert I. Gordon productions. Kritzerland has promised more Mr BIG titles and I hope the 3 listed are being considered. Fred Karger also did the score for the Roy Orbison "songed" FASTEST GUITAR ALIVE. That title is available but only Orbison material is there. NIGHT OF THE LEPUS . I really just want Jeff Bond to explain this to me. The FLASH GORDON was ... I believe... partly financed by Dino De Laurentis to promote the movie. If I'm remembering that correctly. SSSS. That was a title I recorded holding a cassette recorder up to the TV way back in my misspent youth . And now that everyone can hear what an awesome job Williams did on STREETS OF SAN FRANCISCO...
