If you're talking about the helicopter people who flew Rick away, I'm assuming this will have no impact on the series, but rather a setup for the 3 standalone Rick movies they're working on.

Did he not blow up on bridge on zombies? I mustve missed scene where he is on a helicopter.

Not sure if it was pre- or post-credit, but he survived the bridge in the season finale, and is seen lying in a helicopter on the way to an undisclosed location. Cue stand-alone films (there are also rumours that Michonne is supposed to team up with him, but I'm not sure how they'll make that happen since she's not likely to leave her kids).

By the way, here's a fairly recent article on the Maggie affair:

https://www.thewrap.com/walking-dead-twd-is-lauren-cohan-maggie-coming-back-season-nine-or-ever-georgie/

"The fifth episode of season 9 of “The Walking Dead” revealed that she left the Hilltop with the mysterious Georgie during the big time jump that came at the end of Rick Grimes’ final episode."

I must have completely missed that bit, I guess. Hope they'll be able to sort out the differences, and that Cohan is allowed to return. She's one of my favourite characters in the show.

I found last night's episode a bit confusing. Maybe you can help me clear it up?

1. Why did they have to leave the Kingdom? What did I miss here? Last episode was about chopping those guys' heads off, but the three communities were seemingly intact -- ready to take on the skinwalkers.
2. When the Kingdom group arrives at Hilltop, there are no other people there. What happened to them?
3. For that matter, where is the rest of the people at Alexandria? Why are seemingly hundreds, if not thousands of people in the three communities gone?
4. When they cut to the skinwalkers towards the end, there's no snow or winter. So are we to take it this is somewhere far away, or a different timeline?
5. Who is speaking on the radio at the very end, and what are they saying? I couldn't make it out.

Eugene been working on the radio for a few weeks now so a message of some sort was on the cards. Perhaps another community?

As for leaving kingdom, did their boiler pack up?!!

As for the mock zombies not having snow, that was a bit weird. Did it mean it had melted?

I thought the episode fairly dull. the journey in the snow was about the best bit - but the whole judith running off - what did i say about characters doing dumb shit for scriptwriters convenience - and negan to the rescue was about as predictable as Alpha's lunacy.

I don't think you missed much. The writers seem to be jumping around and time has no real meaning. Maybe at the end Rick will wake up in the hospital bed and it will all be a dream.
I don't think anyone could make out what was on the radio but they did have a radio. Maybe Maggie? I did like the snow storm. I wonder how and where they filmed that.

Yes, I was confused too. When we saw all the heads on the poles, that episode ended with a light smattering of snow falling on the H for Home symbol, so the snow was coming. Seems like time did shift quickly. Instead of the main group who found the 10 heads going home, it appears that they all returned to The Kingdom for a while. (Burial, grief?) Then the Kingdom’s boiler crashes and Ezekiel talks about fires breaking out so they all leave. (I have not seen boilers at Hill Top or Alexandria either. Both places seemed to rely on fire places. Did the Kingdom NOT have fire places?) That confused me.

Ezekiel warns Daryl to leave him and Carol alone. Does he think they are more than friends? (She does leave for Alexandria.) I thought there were only a few people at Hill Top and Alexandria because so many went to the fair in the Kingdom. There were a few we saw left in Alexandria. It appears like those who went to the fair stayed at the Kingdom until last night’s episode. Odd.

I won’t ever like Negan so I wish the writers would stop trying to make him into a good guy. He was just too reprehensible in his previous life.

Yep, odd that there was no snow for Alpha, and I have to assume that she does know the group crossed her boundaries.

It is only speculation, but I thought that radio transmission was probably from some new group trying to make contact.

Ok so what the likely finale conclusions?

For sure its probably the revealing of a dastardly attack by alpha on one or all of the settlements - eg final shot of thousands of walkers bearing down on them. (Or Alpha doing a Donald pleasance old testament style threat to a settlement.."You aint seen the last of me...! Etc etc" )

Negan - now being wartime advisor to michonne - having a one2one duel with either alpha or her bigfoot - which is unlikely now given negan's leg wound.

I do expect the daughter to be the one who kills alpha so that aint gonna happen for another season or 2, knowing WD writers.

I don't think they will draw it out THAT long. They're supposed to move on to the 'Helicopter people' after the skinwalker storyline.

From dragon
"THE WALKING DEAD---the Season 9 finale was the lowest-watched finale in series history with 5 million viewers and drew 37% less viewers than Season 8's finale. Season 6's finale drew 18 million viewers. On the positive side, the Season 9 finale audience was up 20% over the previous episode."

Hmmm..apparently it was. That kinda snuck up on me; didn't feel like a season finale.

Guess I'll have to wait to October, then. But season 5 of FEAR THE WALKING DEAD is fortunately slated to premiere a bit sooner, on June 2nd.

I'm guessing the writers thought Rick exiting was the season finale. The rest of the episodes were cleaning house and setting the table for next season.
Hope it goes somewhere. Helicopter people? Nothing ever came of the women who traded supplies for the big book of info.

Yeah, that's where they'll go next. That's who Maggie left with, and that's who (presumably) took Rick away. They'll just need to wrap up the skinwalker thing first.

Im actually gutted that the highway men died. Imo they were a far more likeable group that the whole Magna gang.
I still cant believe none of them ended up on the stick.

Really enjoyed the first episode of FTWD. Loved the goofy plane crash opening just surreal enough to wonder where we were and what was going on. Nice way to start fresh. Also liked the new "kids". Loved the menace of the hanging heads and men in suits. Reminded me of what I liked about TWD> "Good luck with that".
