Me too. I was a real little kid and remember dancing in the parking lot to the theme song after the screening. One of the first films where I could remember something obscure like that!

How old were you in 1989? I was 12. A great age for the movies GHOSTBUSTERS II, INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE, STAR TREK V and LICENCE TO KILL, all of which came out that year!

I was 6, so too young for the other films you list, but just a short time before I got into Star Trek TOS.
Saw it opening weekend here in LA. I ended up seeing it twice in theaters because I loved it so much. I was really little when I saw the first one in theaters (6), so it was really exciting to see the guys all back and I was old enough to appreciate watching it on the big screen that summer (I was almost 11 when 2 came out). I've always enjoyed the film and the score equally and still do to this day. It's definitely not on the same level as the original, film or score, but it is still a real hoot and by no means a bad film. I think GB2 gets a lot of unfair criticism and is, dare I say, maybe a bit underrated?
Ghostbustersnews.com reports this has been delayed until later this year due to Covid-19. At least the LP has been. Im surprised the digital hasnt popped up at least.
I've always liked GB2 as well. I actually thought the first one was massively overrated and only ever thought it was average at best. Didn't find it THAT funny when I saw it at the cinema (loads of the humour flew over UK heads as it was VERY USA-centric). It was also not very scary or creepy either. GB2 had more jokes that landed better outside USA for me and I thought it was spookier too (that ghost gran stealing the baby and the evil portrait were cool). Edelman's score is a lot of fun too. Looking forward to finally hearing it away from the film.

It might be wise for them to hold back the Digital Release until after the physical version comes out.
For the first time ever - 32 years after the film's 1989 release - the Original Score to Ghostbusters II by Randy Edelman will be available across digital and physical formats from Sony Classical. The album includes original tracks as well as 3 newly re-recorded tracks and an additional track originally recorded for Ghostbusters II but not featured in the film.
Are we to honestly believe they paid to have Randy re-record material for this release? More likely knowing his synth usage he reworked some cues they couldn't find or sounded bad.
Maybe Edelman re-recorded some stand alone concert arrangements of his themes? Is so then he certainly could've done it with an orchestra if Sony paid for it.
The tracklist was revealed a while back though. None of these look like new concert arrangements to me
