Wondering why this score has never had a CD release?

Well, it was released on CD in the expensive "Jerry Goldsmith at 20th Century Fox" box set from Varèse (now long out of print). To be honest, I'm not a fan, but Yavar is!

YES! There are at least three of us! (Four, including my friend Jens who doesn't post here...)

I wonder what the hold up is, aside from the score's reputation...could there be missing synth elements a la Damnation Alley, which only recently got a standalone release? Maybe the labels are searching for the John Scott score to pair with Goldsmith's? (That would be a cool twofer.)

Whenever someone gets around to it, I'll be there ready to buy it, crazy person that I am. I find this score's energy and sense of silly fun infectious, an even zanier (and synthier) predecessor to fun stuff in some of the Joe Dante scores...

I'd only buy it if it came with the John Scott 'other' score.
I have the Fox Box and it's a pretty terrible score.
It's not even funny, even though it tries to be. Painful, I'd say.

C'mon Kev...you don't even think 'Anybody Got a Key?' is fun?

I would honestly and unironically enjoy a complete release of this score. Goofy as hell, but quite likable.

If they found John Scott's score for the European cut, that'd be cool, too.

Here is the S*P*Y*S program released by Varese Sarabande on their Goldsmith at Fox box set:
1. Main Title (03:03)
2. Anybody Got A Key? (02:50)
3. The Mannequin (01:45)
4. New Friends (01:40)
5. Who's Paying? (01:04)
6. Dog-Gone Par's (01:58)
7. Tools Of The Trade (01:21)
8. The Buy (02:53)
9. End Title (02:24)
Total Time 18:58

Here is the full list of written cues the Academy lists having physically in their library. I have bolded ones that are not on the Varese.:
http://collections.new.oscars.org/Details/Archive/71303018

1-2 "Main Title," 12 pages
2-1 "Russian Warm Up," 1 page
2-3 "Anybody Got a Keg?," 15 pages (obviously there is either a typo here or on the Varese)
3-1 "The Mannequin," 6 pages
3-2 "The Siberian Blues," 2 pages
3-3 "New Friends," 3 pages
4-1 "A Welcome Guest," 7 pages
5-1 "Table Talk," 3 pages
5-2 "A Little Investigation," 4 pages
5-3 "Who's Paying?," 3 pages
5-4/6-1 "Get Rid of the Dog," 4 pages
6-2 "One for the Road," 2 pages
7-1 "Woops," 2 pages
7-2 [no title], 1 page
7-3 "Dog-Gone Paris," 8 pages
8-1 "Tools of the Trade," 3 pages
8-3/9-1 "Triple Cross," 4 pages
8-3a/9-1a "The Buy," 16 pages
8-3b/9-1b [no title; same cue as 7-2], 1 page
10-2 "A New Start," 9 pages

(I'm going to venture a guess that "A New Start" is the End Title.)

It looks like there are some decently substantial cues still missing so I would very much be interested in a complete release of this score.

Do you think pages correspond with time? If so, it seems to average to ~19 seconds per page. If so, it looks like . . .

...the Academy lists ...

~ :19 .... 2-1 "Russian Warm Up," 1 page
~ :38 .... 3-2 "The Siberian Blues," 2 pages
~ 1:13 .... 4-1 "A Welcome Guest," 7 pages
~ :57 .... 5-1 "Table Talk," 3 pages
~ 1:16 .... 5-2 "A Little Investigation," 4 pages
~ 1:16 .... 5-4/6-1 "Get Rid of the Dog," 4 pages
~ :38 .... 6-2 "One for the Road," 2 pages
~ :38 .... 7-1 "Woops," 2 pages
~ :19 .... 7-2 [no title], 1 page
~ 1:16 .... 8-3/9-1 "Triple Cross," 4 pages
~ :19 .... 8-3b/9-1b [no title; same cue as 7-2], 1 page

~9:49 of music?

I think it's not a reliably direct correspondence, David -- if it's a piece with a slow tempo, 2 pages of written music would obviously have a much longer runtime than if it's a piece with a fast tempo.

I'd buy the CD of the Score.

The following along with it might be a nice Duo of wackiness. Wonder if someone could make a deal with the two companies that produced the films?

Speaking just for myself, while of course as a Goldsmith completist I would buy Do Not Fold, Spindle, or Mutilate if it were released on CD, I gotta say that overall it is one of my least favorite scores he ever wrote. I don't enjoy much of it, at all. S*P*Y*S on the other hand is tons of fun, IMO. I would much prefer the John Scott score for the same film be paired with Jerry's, if tapes for it can be located. (It would also probably be a cheaper pairing since it was not only written for the same studio, but the same film!)

Given that you guys often get advance copies of Goldsmith releases, are you permitted to tell us if this is the complete score or expNded?

Actually I don't know any details about this release and I haven't heard it (wish I did have it!)

In case you missed it: https://goldsmithodyssey.buzzsprout.com/159614/8553668-soundtrack-spotlight-goldsmith-at-20th-vol-3-the-stripper-1963-and-s-p-y-s-1974

The extra quarter hour of music (almost half the score was missing from the Varese box) makes a huge difference.
