Funny thing is America, like many other places around the world are fine with forced labor.
But if s-e-x is involved then suddenly the outrage! BTW, Allison who?

I've read a couple of articles about this.
Man, that's some messed up sh*t.

What makes me the saddest is that there seems to be a bottomless supply of young people that have no mature, responsible, protective, guiding influences in their lives--and they end up resorting to seeking out organizations like this NXIVM garbage.

As a parent it's stomach-turning.

She's not the only one tied up in it apparently; copied from another site I sometimes post at:
VICE seems to indicate two BSG'ers: Nikki Clyne (Cally) and Grace Park (Boomer, etc) were also involved, but this article's a few weeks old. This article is a jaw-dropper, if true. I can't imagine anyone's career affected in a positive way by this.
https://www.vice.com/en_ca/article/kzxnqx/all-the-vancouver-actresses-linked-to-an-alleged-sex-cult

Since 2006 the organization would bring on several Vancouver-bred actresses including Hawaii Five-O’s Grace Park, Smallville’s Kristin Kreuk and Battlestar Galactica’s Nicki Clyne. Edmondson personally recruited Clyne, who reportedly remains faithful to Raniere even after his arrest. Though Park and Kreuk have cut ties with the organization, former members say their past roles within Nxivm were undeniably significant.

Okay I actually know a little bit about this. I met Nicki Clyne in 2005 when she joined this group and she talked to me in great length about the organization. Nicki's story is much like Sarah Edmondson's, in she was "an honest, sincere person, who honestly believed in the value of the Nxivm teachings.”

Those teachings were about self improvement and being a better person to yourself and to society as a whole. Nicki contacted me about a year ago about her new business venture which revolves around holding news outlets to ethical standards and calling out slants and bias in reporting. All my conversations with Nicki have always been about improving the human experience, the very opposite of exploitation.

Okay, so then the question is, do you believe the allegations?
If I was in your place, I probably would not, and I would just wait until more facts came to light.
But I always take into consideration where the facts, such as they may be, are coming from.
Distrust of the media is an all-too valid concern.

Well, I'm sure she would It reminds me of Scientology in that way. Now matter how bad things are, you get into a way of thinking -- with or without brainwashing -- that makes you think of things in a nicer light. You end up with books like "Beyond Belief" (Jenna Miscavige) describing the horrors if you're lucky enough to get out.

She's a sweetheart, and everyone I've had conversations with including some of her BSG cast/ friends have expressed this to me. A year ago Nicki said she was still affiliated, so she obviously supports the organization. I'm saying based on what I know, and of free will of mind wouldn't be involved in any of the alleged nefarious activities.

Well turns out these nefarious activities were more than alleged and Allison Mack is off to jail (and she probably should have gotten a lot more than what she's getting).

Only 3 years? Good grief. If you're a celeb and commit sex offences or traffick women you practically go free.

At least Cosby is still in jail.....oh...

I haven't followed the case but was she brainwashed into doing these activities? I could see a lighter sentence if that was the case.

She was basically Ghislaine Maxwell to the main guy.

She was married to Nicki Clyne who played Cally on Battlestar Galactica who was also a member of NXIVM according to Wikipedia. According to a witness Clyne was part of the inner circle but not charged. Clyne is a prison reform advocate. Supposedly Mack cooperated with prosecutors. We will probably have to wait for a book to get the whole story.
