Could be. Maybe. While going through old threads about 'Dracula', films, composers, etc, I found a new FSM Member selling his copy of Varese's 'Dracula' for $50.00 in August. Then the price by member 'Joe S.' was reduced to $40.00 and then last month reduced to $25.00. Does Joe S. have some 'insider trading' info from Varese? (He was having interested parties contact him through Paypal).

I bought a mint copy from Amoeba Records in L.A. for $20 in late August.

But would a re-release of the album CD be a Club release? And if indeed the original stereo tapes are long gone, would people be happy to buy a mono version? I wouldn't. Sorry to pour cold water on the idea, but I'm not hopeful.

If someone could clean up the album master, I could see it as an Encore Release.

But how many times were lost causes later found?

Alien 3 happened this past April. How many times were we told that would never happen? While I'm not saying Dracula is guaranteed, nothing seems impossible in the soundtrack world anymore.

Well, aside from a release of Buckaroo Banzai...

Hey there, Montana Dave. Boy, I wish I had some insider trading information on Varese and an expanded or remastered John Williams Dracula. I just have a feeling we shall see it sometime in the coming year. It is my hope! I remember how releases for such excellent scores for Wait Until Dark (Mancini), When A Stranger Calls (Kaproff), and Goldsmith's Damnation Alley were considered extremely challenging at the very least before they materialized (thankfully). Joe

I sold mine recently on eBay. But I have no inside info, other than the same speculation here that everybody else can see. So I don't think sales from people who "know something" are necessarily any more than that.

Maybe it went down in price because it just wasn't selling. I recall looking at prices when I found my copy by the curb (!), and found that it was $25 most places, which surprised me.

$101 for used copy is not so cheap.

That's why I don't own it on CD.

Ha!
I did it only once. But is it fair to call LLL's Black Friday announcement "insider information"?
I sold original Batman & Batman Returns right after LLL announced that new 4 CD box with better sound will come next week smile

I sure hope something is “up” with both titles but I’ll honestly be surprised if we see either of them from Varese on the 22nd...

Commercial releases or popular one's by Williams do come much easier, yeah, i'm not so sure with Dracula JW weren't into horror much at all this could take some digging, hopefully I'm wrong I'd buy a full Drac instantly - doe I'm still happy what I got Vareses.

That's odd, I had a look a couple of days ago & couldn't see anything under £45.

It musters to a number of reasons - few got word of full Mac & Drac still no I-clad, both been all-round earth could be mangled every-one knows it or short listing 1 to 3 days possibly 7 days, mint cd's lucky devil.

Both titles were newly listed by the same seller and I was fortunate to snatch them up.
