Hello Folks

Yes all these themes are outstanding.

One of my favourites is the theme from The Invisible Man tv series starring David McCallum

Remains to be seen if it ever gets an official release :-(

Regards

CC

So many great themes by Mr. Mancini.

It is hard to choose just one:-)

Theme....Charade.
Run a close second by Silver Streak, Oklahoma Crude, and for overall variety of themes on a score, The Great Race.

So many unforgettable themes, but the instrumental version of Crazy World, as used in the main titles in Victor/Victoria is a personal favorite.

TWO FOR THE ROAD and WAIT UNTIL DARK - both pure perfection (as so many other tunes and themes)!

he did so many great ones that it would be a toss-up except that Moon River is really special. For me, the best movie song ever.

Others that I really love--

the main titles (instrumental) from Charade, Arabesque, Hatari, Molly Maguires, Lifeforce, Peter Gunn, The Thorn Birds, The White Dawn.

And Dreamsville from Peter Gunn.

That's 10.

Wow, difficult question. He has so many good ones. I'll have to think about it for a while.

So much for me getting away from the computer anytime soon. wink

Another vote for CHARADE. However, I prefer the mushy song haunting, melancholy male-and-female-vocal chorus version.

A tossup between "Peter Gunn" and "Lifeforce".

A Shot in the Dark - main title.

I came here to post this thinking it would be an odd opinion. Guess not.

Also Lifeforce is pretty bad ass. And Pink Panther is nearly transcendent.

And I still adore Remington Steele. Although I've never heard it played with quite the same energy it had in the show.)

I'll throw in a vote for the MOMMIE DEAREST Main Title --not the most hummable Mancini theme, but mature and dramatic and haunting in a way... Another one I love is "Young Meggie" from THE THORN BIRDS.

I have no singular one, but so far my favorites are: "The Thorn Birds" and "The Pink Panther".

I love almost all of Mr. Mancini's themes -- true ear candy. Among my personal favorites:

Mr. Hobbs Takes a Vacation
The Molly Maguires
The Night Visitor
Mr. Lucky
Days of Wine and Roses

That 99 and 44 something something dead theme

It's "99 44/100% Dead". He recycled the song "Easy Baby" as a source cue in "Silver Streak"
