Some I already have. Some are not for my taste. The good news is the 2 CD THE LAST METRO, THE WOMAN NEXT DOOR, CONFIDENTIALLY YOURS will be with me on Wednesday. The best news is that the new recording of ENDLESS NIGHT is only a few months away. Those samples I heard make ENDLESS NIGHT a definite must have. That is indeed the best news! But you're not a Ron Goodwin fan, Craig? Yavar

Can Quartet please quit releasing these excellently produced Goldsmith re-issues? I'm on the verge of having to get a paper route to pay for all these CDs. Many a purchase made today, of course,

Fantastic batch as always, Quartet/Jose! I'd love to know more details on the differences between Intrada's two disc Great Train Robbery and yours. I'm pretty happy with my Intrada copy but if there are improvements made over that similarly to LLL's The Blue Max (also rebuilt from the ground up if I understand correctly), then I'll be getting this yet again. Heck I might anyway just for the new notes by Mr. Takis, as I'm a big fan of his writing/analysis. Yavar

Fair enough. All Goodwin tickles my fancy, but I agree: Where Eagles Dare is his greatest (that I've heard anyway), by far! Yavar

You're right -- I forgot about that one and still need to pick it up! Good year for Goodwin fans! Yavar

Neil S. Bulk about the new Great Train Robbery on the Jerry Goldsmith Online forum: "For the most part yes, the compositions are the same, but the performances have been re-edited to match the selected takes used in the film, which differ from previous releases." http://www.jerrygoldsmithonline.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=5129 Surprising to learn the wonderful Intrada was not the film takes! What? No love for Goldsmith? Haven't most bought it multiple times already? Do you really think that "most" have bought it "multiple times"? And were that true, wouldn't it stand to reason that they might just purchase it yet another time? As for me, it will be my first purchase of this score, as I missed out on previous releases. Is it worth it?

Great Train Robbery is one of my all-time favorite scores, so every extra note of music is precious to me. But of course, Your Mileage May Vary. I'm just happy that 11-disc set isn't something I need to buy, since I already have all of those Iglesias/Almodovar scores.
