DUNE---sci fi novelist Brian Clement tweeted his comments about film footage of the Denis Villeneuve remake (since deleted at the studio's request), “Based only on the footage I saw (since people are curious), I think this will blow people away the way LOTR did 20 years ago, the way Star Wars did 40 years ago. It’s not Jodorowsky or Lynch, but maybe Villeneuve has filmed the unfilmable… I’m not exaggerating when I say a lot of people will have goosebumps/tears when they see this movie (I might!). Heck, when they see the footage I saw they will.”

KUNG FU---David Leitch (HOBBS & SHAW, DEADPOOL 2) will direct the Universal Pictures movie based on the David Carradine tv series.

THE MATRIX 4---Hugo Weaving said he will not return as Agent smith, “It’s unfortunate but actually, I had this offer [for THE VISIT] and then the offer came from THE MATRIX, so I knew it was happening but I didn’t have dates. I thought could do both and it took eight weeks to work out that the dates would work — I held off on accepting [THE VISIT]. I was in touch with Lana Wachowski, but in the end, she decided that the dates weren’t going to work. So we’d sorted the dates and then she sort of changed her mind. They’re pushing on ahead without me."

DOLITTLE---multiple film finance experts predict the Robert Downey, Jr. movie will lose $100 million for Universal Studios.

WORLD WAR Z 2---co-producer Jeremy Kleiner commented on if the sequel, which was canceled by Paramount Pictures for budget reasons, will ever be made, “Someday. We love Max Brooks’ book. We love the universe of it. It doesn’t feel like WORLD WAR Z is done and over with.”

LEONARD BERNSTEIN---Bradley Cooper is the star, director and co-writer of this untitled Netflix biomovie about composer Leonard Bernstein and his complex marriage to Felicia Montealegre.

A COLUMN OF FIRE---Epix miniseries sequel to the miniseries based on the Ken Follett novels, THE PILLARS OF THE EARTH and WORLD WITHOUT END.

TRIVIA---two actors who appeared in James Cameron's TITANIC also appeared in other Titanic movies. David Warner, who played the doomed Spicer Lovejoy in TITANIC, played real life survivor Lawrence Beesley in the tv movie S.O.S. TITANIC. Bernard Fox, who played Col. Archibald Gracie IV in TITANIC, played Titanic crewman Frederick Fleet in A NIGHT TO REMEMBER in which he spotted the deadly iceberg and exclaimed, "Iceberg dead ahead, Sir!"

Thanks, Dragon53!

Great potential, for either good or bad. Hopefully a thoughtful, meaningful film and not the usual treatment so many iconic films/shows so often get.

As anyone else who's a fan of Brook's seminal zombie treatise would opine, Netflix or Amazon should pick up the rights to World War Z and produce it as a mini-series which follows the narrative structure of the book; none of this first-person, super-hero BS like the Pitt film.

Does this mean that the pulling power of a "bankable star" doesn't mean shit if the story is dull, uninteresting or just plain crap?

Which movie studio is going to use computer algorithms to create box office hits?

"Kung-tanic…"
----------------
A passenger liner, said to be unsinkable, even by God, sets sale from China with an ancient martial arts zen-master and his pupil (plus granddaughter) onboard the doomed ship.
While trying to master the power of the body and the mind (via a great many flashbacks), they must race against time to escape the stricken vessel, using their newly developed wits (the granddaughter acquires them ALL with very LITTLE effort) and powers of the Forc….their minds!

Was Titanic really so well lighted when it went down like such a chump?

In James Cameron's version the lights (all power) when out when the aft split in two.

Well, if all it takes is a career and marriage problems, then we can't be that far off from a Jerry Goldsmth film.

Well they managed to make Einstein a playboy and sex maniac. So I guess they can spice up any biopic.

That screencap, even if it's not another Hollywood fabrication, reminds me of all the times in ST:TOS when Enterprise "lost all power" and was "adrift", yet the artificial gravity still managed to function without any problem whatsoever.

So were the Titanic's lights on when it was in its death throes or not?

So were the Titanic's lights on when it was in its death throes or not?

If I recall correctly according to eye witnesses who survived the actual event, the lights stayed on until its sinking. It sank right after it split in two.
