Let's see what you guys can do? I'm currently reading King's Doctor Sleep. I'm on a, um, hat trick having started with a re-read of The Dead Zone, followed by a first reading of The Shining and now, the follow-up. I'm ingesting pulp at the sort of rate Doctor Sleep's "True Knot" ingest Steam.
If anyone's seen the movie, what's the 'story' on it? I'm not worried about spillers, etc. By page 30 of Doctor Sleep (it's like a James Bond pre-title sequence) there's a whole lot going on. I don't read all Stephen King stuff, but, the craziness in Doctor Sleep runs deep - you just allow for the characterizations and plot nonsense because at the end of the day, that's what you escape into when you read the damned books. I've seen a whole load of reviews and even checked out YT stuff. It's abundantly clear that King hated Kubrick's intel on The Shining because he (Kubrick) derailed it, but Kubrick being Kubrick, a whole world of allowances are usually made to plaster the film with the accolade of a 'masterpiece.' So, it seems, the film of Doctor Sleep has to do the seemingly impossible and thankless task of paying homage to BOTH camps. What say ye?

I thought "to Kill a mockingbird" was one of those Hunger Games sequels.
That's ok, when the first Hunger Games movie was released, I thought it was either a Twilight sequel or a theatrical spinoff of True Blood.

A critic can absolutely change my outlook.
Yes. In fact, that's how I approach life: anything anyone says or writes or otherwise states, or any new information has the potential to change and influence my outlook and opinion on things. That is the reason for exchanging opinions to begin with. Opinions that are immutable become inner dogmas, and I'm wary of dogmas.
