After listening to the original EMI CD release today, it made me wish for a complete score release with the film versions of each track.

Seek out the German CD release. It’s longer.

The film versions of the Moroder content are so different, I consider most of his tracks unreleased.

But yeah, the Doldinger German CD release is great. I want that Giorgio gold.

Even the film version of the theme song is better than the album version.

The Robert Folk's score for the second chapter is amazing great. There's more tracks from the score in his Intrada's promo.

It also has no Moroder music.

Rehashing something said many times before, but a release with all of Moroder's music, both file and album versions and all of Doldinger's (plus of course the song....didn't know there were film/album versions of that) would be a very welcome release.

I've often wondered if the album versions were what Moroder initially submitted to the studio, and they rejected them for being "too pop", so he went back (or someone else was hired) to make them more "conventional".

No wish to invalidate Moroder's work, but it always struck me as odd the studio would replace portions of Klaus Doldinger's score, seeing as Moroder's music does not fundamentally alter the overall tone of the movie (unlike Legend for example).

I have the German cut on Blu-ray. The Doldinger cues which were removed from the international version work much better (particularly the Ivory Tower cue). On the other hand, the longer cut of the film does not flow as well as the shorter, international one.

I have the German CD. It is truly a magnificent score, a beautiful fantasy score. I wish I could get that longer promo disc

That's not new. Seen it before,....date even says 2017 -- and there are even reviews that old.

Amazon consolidates title reviews, so people complaining about the terrible transfer on a vanilla DVD of a film is listed under a pristine remastered 4K blu-ray released 15 years later.

That’s an edition that’s been out before in other countries. It’s just the international (EMI) soundtrack with several extended mixes of the Limahl song.

Oh I know they do that sometimes, but usually there's some link between them which it doesn't seem to have here.
